He expressed his music throughout his being and body. It's funny to look at how tame these moves look today yet in the 1960s he was considered risqué and every parent feared him. That's why he was only shot from the mid section up on the Ed Sullivan show. Imagine if they saw Beyoncé in 1962! In any case, he had a magical voice and created some incredible heart-felt music that will never be forgotten and he laid the groundwork for so many to come. @@davidhennen7045 Indeed! Lol. But Madonna mostly posed and Beyoncé actually moved. That's why I thought of her. But if we're getting technical, Michael and Janet started the dance moves that led to the choreographed song and dance videos that now predominate. But we can look back to Elvis and singers like Hank Ballard (The Twist) who got things rocking and rolling while bumping and grinding on stage.

…ELVIS, what a great artist and extraordinary singer. He arranged and executed any song he wanted with his beautiful vocal timbre and baritonal register. He delivered greatly and effortlessly both in high tessitura rock and roll with an effectively projected scream, and in slow, soft and romantic songs in a low key. Sometimes he intoned with the sound and nuances of a black singer's voice, and sometimes the accents and inflections in his interpretation were also that of a black singer. He was also praiseworthy in his performances with his gestures and energetic and provocative body movements. Splendid he was without a doubt.
