•Elvis Presley’s Discography is Weird•
The best selling artist of all time and one of the most influential musicians ever, so i would be safe to say that #elvispresley had an extraordinary prolific career! And you would right… if not for his discography.

I love when young people talk about big stars like Elvis. People say i am young, and i am. Only 35, but you are much younger. Congratulations for the channel and for your taste in music. I am a big fan of Elvis and i agree with you, but you forgot about Elvis is back, his album from 1960, in my opinion one of the greatest . When he came back from the army he had the most beautiful voice ever heard in this universe. Thanks for the video. I’ll watch more of your videos.

I love pop/rock music nerds! It’s nice to hear other people talk about an artist in such depth. This was a great info to Elvis for me. Appreciate you

@@duane_313 this guy doesn’t know fuck about shit when it comes to Elvis… He’s a KZbinr not a music nerd. Music nerds know what they’re talking about before they open their mouths. “Music nerds” usually have a music history degree, or a musician themselves, and aren’t 12 fucking years old.

Absolutely correct. Elvis was maybe the greatest performer ever and made some of the greatest and most groundbreaking music ever recorded but the majority of his recorded work is ok at best. Luckily the good stuff is so incredibly good it massively overshadows the bad.

I’m a big Elvis fan and everything you said was pretty true, but I’d say he has a couple of albums that are overlooked like “Elvis is back” and “That’s the way it is” which I think is his best

Look, your critique of an artist who created being a rock star is your opinion and then there are the rest, his public which happens to be worldwide! He is the largest selling artist ever and that should give you a perspective of the quality of the music he left us. All of the artists who followed him who were more creative and were able to grow within their craft (according to your opinion)were provided the tools and the audience by this man, alone! He gave them the road map on how to become a rock star! Thanks for being interested in his music and for daring to critique his career.

I will say his discography is definitely unorganized. But that typical of what happens to artists who started in the 50s where singles were king and the LP wasn’t considered an art form at least until 1966. Elvis was no exception unfortunately. For example the one imperfection that stood out to me was the “Golden Records” series. Volume 1 had 14 song with 3 songs already on previous LPs. and then you get to Volume 2 with JUST the singles adding up to only 10 songs. Volume 3 and 4 only had singles but they had 12 songs on each. While the first was a proper “Greatest Hits” album, the rest were like a singles only album. Volume 5 on the other hand, had some previous album tracks like Volume 1. So going by the compilations alone, they do feel a bit lopsided in a way.
Ouch.. 🤕
