At 1:58 you can hear Elvis start to hum ‘hold’ and at 2.00 you can hear him definitely start to sing the word ‘hold’ early but then he eventually comes in with ‘hold me again’.This is different from the other official recording I have heard where this has been cut out -really interesting. You can also hear the bit where he comes in early on the demo recordings.

Had the 45 to this song. Only one i owned from Elvis. We were on our way back from a vacation in California. We made it to Idaho Falls on our way home to Calgary Alberta when we heard on the radio. Our family was stunned. I was just about to start high school that September. I remember quite vividly thinking " God, No". Here he had this hit climbing the charts and suddenly, he was gone. Should have been another #1 for Elvis on the hot 100. I've heard it sold upwards of 6 million and it didn't make the top 10. Billboard dropped the ball on this one.
