The 2400 and the 296 has been a favorite in the .357 for over 35 years. It is No coincidence that the Ram picture is on the 2400. Shooting IHMSA Pistol Rams at 200 Meters using a .357 revolver with Open sights, 158 SWC, and the 2400 powder, the 55 pound Rams would go down. It was much easier to put the rams down with the .44 mag.

My favorite load in my Ruger BH 357 Mag. using 2400 is 13.0 grs. with a NOE clone of the Lyman 358156 HP bullet sized to .359". Alliant 2400 around here is a cheap as any other pistol powder plus I shoot it in four different caliber cast rifle loads so it serves multiple purposes.

GOOD GROUPS AT 25 YARDS!!! I'm going to try that with my 6" Ruger GP 100! I have been working on my groups and gotten nothing like you have yet. But I am using .357 diameter S.J.H.P. bullets. Now I have some .358 poly coated lead bullets to load! I will try your load and see if it works for me with the .358 poly coated 158 grain. Thanks! I like your presentation!!!

I have not tried 2400,il have to look into it meanwhile I have fell in love with n350 in 4"+ revolvers and for a lever gun you have to try h110 it's a whole new animal by my experience, my henry bbs 20" is virtually stacking holes at 40 yards or so with a bit just a tad over 2000fps using Everglades 158 jacket soft points, I now swear by h110 for 357,44mag carbines and I have played with 45colt and 454 with it as well just not in carbines/rifles,without a longer barrel it's kinda unnecessary as it's is still burning once the projectile had left the building however in a raging bull at night it looks like ghost riders sidearm with the fire breathing barrel ports

Thanks Elvis. I load .357 with Tite Group and CFE Pistol. Wanting to try some Power Pistol. Gotta get out there and test for accuracy. I currently have 3 .38/.357 revolvers, so I load them a lot. Seems I keep giving away the .38’s. All my friends seem to want them. I picked up some steel molds at an estate sale not long ago, so I’ll be trying them out as well.

Hey Elvis, don't be so hard on yourself there dude. Those red aiming areas on that target are the same size of the black on a Bullseye target. If you can hold it, You could shoot "X" ring all day with those. One inch groups are outstanding @25 yards, However, it would be nice to see what they would do @50. One thing you have to bring into the scope of things, Most,, say 95% of people never shoot a pistol at 25 or further distance. Now back to the accuracy thing. You did as well as a person could without a machine rest, I like what you are doing by challenging the ammo and yourself to achieve those tiny groups that we all want. (I got a feeling that you have been bitten by the Bullseye bug) and that is a good thing. Proud of ya dude. Keep up the good work over there and good shoot'en to ya. Dave.

I don't think that is bad shooting at all. You are right we can test forever and a day. My thinking on this is pick your favorite results and powders and test 100 rounds at 25 and 50 yards and see how it pans out. Heck put them next to your favorite factory load and do a 50/50 test (50 rounds of factory and 50 rounds of your fav hand loads at 25 and 50 yards) Then you would have something.
@elvisammo

That sounds like something I might try sometime Vengenace Early... I do like to shoot great groups when I shoot for groups but It don't always happen! Humility is something a shooter must be willing to suffer! I don't know how willing I am but I suffer from it often.... : ) I feel confident enough to take a deer at 100 yrds (357 mag)
@vengenaceearly255
@vengenaceearly255 6 жыл бұрын
Elvis that is good shooting .. any one that has ever shot a handgun should know that 100 yrds is pretty damn good. I know some fakers will say they can do better to 200 yards. I would put money down that they can't shoot well at 50 yrds. :)

Hi Elvis ammo I am looking to start loading for a 38 special and 9mm. Both of these I am not looking to load hot really neither if the guns I have would take hot loads real well. But what powder would you recommend for both of them so I don't have to buy a bunch of different powders to start with. And I am going to use copper jacketed bullets not cast or copper coated if that matters
@elvisammo
@elvisammo 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Shane.. I don't usually load hot either for plinking at all..There are lots and lots of good powders that would do well for both calibers but not to confuse you... You can depend on Hodgedon Tite group. I recommend getting a data book... you won't ever regret it... Lyman 50th is a great conservative book of data... Hope this helps.. Happy reloading to ya!

Another good video! I switched to the low heat method for PCing my boolits and it's working great! I was wondering if you have a rifle in 243 or another 6mm you could cast for? I'd even really interested in that as I saw Arsenal has a 6mm 115gr mould that looks great. Happy shooting!

Too bad on the 6mm, not many returns when you do a search for people casting for one. I guess it's like cast in a 223 used to be, very elusive! I'm thinking really hard about getting one of those moulds from arsenal. They look great and great price too! If you find anyone casting for 243win let me know please.

Hey Knighthawk6... I got a feeling We won't get enough velocity with the 247 to show much if any benifit with the hollow point... But with that said. I haven't seen the bullet design. I always seem to eat my words! : ) You can private message me on the about page...
@nomamartini1310
@nomamartini1310 6 жыл бұрын
The bullet design can be found at the following link on the NOE website. The mould comes with two types of hollow-point pins and a flat nose pin. Using the long pins and WW, it drops a 234 grain bullet. I am still developing load data, but it seems to like the 900-980 fps range. Ill try to figure out the PM. noebulletmolds.com/NV/product_info.php?cPath=84_520&products_id=4679&osCsid=glb1u1pfbe7uio3nbfa7u392i2

I am an environmentalist. To do my part I only use one hole when I shoot less than 1,000 yards with a handgun to save paper... < points at Pig Flying past > You might shock yourself if you shoot an NRA Bullseye target at the specified range. You might discover that you are getting mostly 9's & 10's and therefore qualify as an 'A' Student. However, the A+ students put all their shots in the X-ring all day long. In statistics it is common to toss out the stray cats in the herd. In Golf you can say Mulligan and not have a shot count. I see no reason why the EARRL cannot have a similar rule for its laboratory. After all, this is about science not fun...
