Which is probably due in large part to reducing stress in her life, by booting her ex out of it. And I'm glad to see it. Not fat shaming, but concerned for her health. Carrying a lot of extra weight, especially as we get older, is extremely detrimental to our health. Especially when we work in high paced, high stress jobs. I'm just thrilled for Kelly, all the way around.

Kelly is one of my favorite female artists. I don't think I've ever heard her sing anything badly, EVER! I think she is a role model for younger girls because she does look for positivity in whatever is happening. One personal fact from me - I just found out I had breast cancer. I'm doing chemo now, then surgery, then radiation. I play What Doesn't Kill you Makes You Stronger first thing every morning and last thing every night before I go to bed. I have an excellent prognosis and have been fairly upbeat. That song just seems to give me confidence that I'm doing what I need to do. PSA from me for today - make sure you do self exams and get your mammograms done! I plan on being here for my 28 year old daughter for a long time to come! God Bless you Kelly!

Breast cancer survivor here. Going on year 6. Because I always get my annual screenings, it was caught early, and required a fairly minor surgery and radiation therapy. I've actually had several different types of cancer now in my lifetime. So, at 64 (in April) I'm diligent about all my screenings. Stay strong! Attitude is 90% of the battle. I wish you a full, and speedy recovery!

She's always been just a very honest, down to earth soul. No artifice, no airs. At the same time, she's not throwing her personal business out there for the attention the way so many of her celebrity peers do. She has never resorted to revealing clothing or trashy behavior, in order to keep her name, and her face in the spotlight. She's not a social media tramp posting shocking or lewd content in order to raise her subscriber numbers. But then, she doesn't need to. Her fans adore her, and are loyal to her. It doesn't hurt that she's incredibly talented, but it also isn't the main reason she has such loyal fans. It's her authenticity. It's extremely rare for a celebrity, especially one who has been in the public eye for over 20 years, to remain true to themself. And yet, she has. I suspect that a large part of the reason for that, is simply that she can't be something that she isn't. It's not in her makeup. And because it isn't, people find her relatable. From her first audition on American Idol, to today, she's always been the real deal. What you see, is what you get.

I'd like to see how she could delve into a little of the Back to Black energy from Amy. Not mimic it, but really deep dive into that Ronnie Spector girl group wall of sound vibe. I'd also love to hear her do something more subdued and singer-songwriter-esque. Maybe splitting the difference between Tapestry and Blue. Jon Brion on production.
