Adam is just one of those people with a tremendous vocal gift that only comes around very rarely, hence Queen’s choice to have Adam stand in as frontman after waiting almost 20 years after Freddie’s passing. On top of that, from all reports, Adam is a really nice person who is continually re-inventing his look and style …case in point…he was a coach on The Voice Australia earlier this year and he looks completely different from then until now! He’s lost weight, shaved off the facial hair, gone back to dark hair and looks considerably younger! None of that has to do with his talent though. I have been a massive Adam fan right from that very first Idol audition and would give my eye teeth to see him live in Cabaret. ❤

Amazing as always. such a great conversation, not even going to call it an interview since its so organic. Theater is amazing for those who get to go. Im still going to lobby for a livestream of it some day for those of us who cant make the trip because of this or that responsibilities. Especially right now given the climate of everything i think this is an important one to put back on peoples radars worldwide. I think it would make people want to go even more, who can, to experience it in person. Since my psychology 101 class in college ive always carried the story of Kitty Genovese with me and what you learn about the bystander effect. The "someone else will take care of it, i dont want to get involved". It feels like that could be applied to what happened, what Cabaret talks about and warns against.

I think if you want to get the MC right and as originally conceived by Kander and Ebb (and Harold Prince) you need to see the film and Joel Gray’s landmark performance . I’m sorry, the MC is not a liberal voice against Nazism . He’s an opportunist - and a nasty piece of work. and ends up colluding with the anti-Semitic audience taking over the venue. So he drops the line about the gorilla to collude with the fascists in the audience - and that is where the shock comes in. As Joel Gray says, nobody ever laughed at that line during the original Broadway run. It’s Rebecca Freknall’s poor direction to blame here.
