@mosaic_fit2 жыл бұрын
It's a woman telling her husband that she'll bear him kids and contribute to the growth of his family name. This, in a conservative African society, evokes a man's pride and elevates his status. A woman that does that is showered with a great deal of praises. In a patriarchal society, she's considered a great woman when the fruit of her womb is a boy child - this is, however, a discriminatory habit as children are a blessing from God and ancestors (to those who believe in ancestral spirits)...
@genuinecream2 жыл бұрын
@@mosaic_fit Thank you Moses for cueing me in. Warm greetings from Germany 🙋🏼♀️
@thehightableza2 жыл бұрын
Moses is only mentioning one line in the song where she says I will bare your kids and grow your surname. However the rest of the song is about her expressing love for her partner and how he makes her feel. She loves him so much that she will have his kids. Indicating that she will give up a lot just to be with him. Its a very beautiful song and it should not in anyway be made out to seem like it has anything to do with patriarchy. If it were a guy singing this sing he would be saying something like I will be completely yours and spend all my money on you. Indicating a solid level of commitment, which is what the artist is indicating with the line about the baby. This song is perfect and should be praised for its authentic and pleasurable sound.

My relationship of 4 years ended on 8 March '21. I found put later that he had faked 4 years of our relationship, tried to get everything I had and left (Back to Zimbabwe) when he realised he wasn't going to get my properties or any more money out of me. I have a tavern I'd bought to help him become a better man. This is one of the songs which played periodically in the tavern. The day after he left this song played. I couldn't. I just couldn't. My heart broke into a million pieces. My stomach pulled with anxiety, guilt, hate, anger, disappointment and every other emotion. It's 6 months later. This song is still beautiful but it no longer has "that" effect on me. I no longer feel the need to run away from the song or to ask the staff to switch it off. Time does heal and the emotional scars eventually heal too. I'm glad he's gone because I wasn't progressing in any way at all with him around.

Azana, you're really beautiful and have a soothing, unique voice. I hope that you make it far in your singing career. I speak life and blessings. Even when life throws you lemons, make lemonade. Always smile and put a brave face on regardless of troubles and tribulations you may be facing. ❤❤❤💒❤❤❤
