My father was a Marine F4 driver in Vietnam...He once told me the F4 was a rock with wings held aloft through the sheer obstinance of the engines and that it was the only aircraft ever made where the glide slope of the ejection seats was superior to the aircraft's glide slope. Seeing the F4s takeoff roll in the middle of the rolls of all these other aircraft is really the first time I was able to grasp the point of what he said in any meaningful way. You can almost hear the engines yelling at the airframe, "Get yer.....God....get yer lard ass in the air....you're making us look like idiots in front of those cute little F16s!"
@lillyanneserrelio21875 жыл бұрын
lol. F4: Does this fuselage make me look fat? Engines: No honey. We gasp and strain because we're so strong and powerful, we're not used to lifting such a light load so we strain from not having to exert ourselves. You are thin and lovely. But its cold out so dont wear that dress that shows all that skin (folds of fat). Maybe cover up your fuselage with that full body sweater I bought you RIGHT AFTER we met....

Look how the F-22 climbs compared to how the F-4 climbs. Big difference for air-to-air combat. Big Improvement for the American Air Force.
@Orion-ir9fi7 жыл бұрын
That's a bit of an apples and oranges comparison even aside from the standpoint of the decades and generations that separate them. The F-4 was a multi-role fighter-bomber meant to be a jack-of-all-trades for the Air Force, Navy, and Marines. It was a great aircraft especially for its time, but as with any design that must meet so many requirements there were compromises that had to be made. It's a little unfair to a 1950s multi-role, multi-service fighter-bomber to compare it to a fifth generation stealth air superiority fighter.

Amazing with U2 spy plane that has only two front wheel and one rear wheel and all are line up. So, how can the pilot fly that plane? it's very skillful pilot. When It lands, several ground crews try to hold the wings and put a temporary small wheels on both sides of the wings. The white car drives behind the U2 is not a regular ground crew, but an actual pilot himself.
