Very interesting and informative. In my distant memory I think I did once visit Ely when I lived at Bury near Ramsey in the ‘70’s. I do however vividly recall seeing ‘the ship of the fens’ whilst being driven via minibus from Ramsey to work in my first job after leaving school, 1978, in a canning factory in Soham and marvelling at the sight. You’ve piqued my interest to visit Ely after all these years to appreciate it in all its splendour and history

I visited Ely cathedral years ago. I parked next to the Cromwell House and walked there, like this video. The cathedral is huge, inside and very impressive. Perhaps the *Sevastopol* cannon will be updated in the future. Perhaps Ukraine will give mementos to countries that aided them. Imagine a big burnt out Russian T90 tank, next to the Sevastopol cannon. 😁

Very interesting video, thank you. I've lived relatively close to Ely all my life and have visited many, many times. You still managed to tell me some things I didn't know!

Thank you - a very comprehensively produced video, excellent in every way, so very well done indeed. I visited Ely quite a few times during my undergrad years with its important historical relevance. And only since it was mentioned, is the local eel population now under conservation control, as world wide, eels are now a severely endangered species, do you know ? Thank you once again :)

Another excellent video! Interestingly, today I read some predictions from the climate alarmists about how certain areas of the country will be plunged underwater by 2060 amid sea level rise. It didn't mention the fact that over 1000 years ago Ely was once an island at the time when we had no cars or industries to produce CO2 and cause the sea to rise.
