We have had tests done with EM-1 and survival of microbes with chlorinated water. The EM-1 can withstand several times more than what is the EPA standard for treatment. For the most part it is not a concern regarding tap water and EM-1.

I've had real trouble getting the built up soap out of my washing machine. I added this to the longest rinse cycle. I could see the water gradually foam more and more. Asvtge cycle went through the water clarified. On opening the washing machine the smell of gone off soap had gone. I think it could do with another run through but wow, very pleased. I tried all sorts of in wash cleaners (from natural companies). It only seemed to dent the problem rather than make a difference it needed. Looking forward to seeing what the clothes smell like after the next wash cycle.

I like the idea of spraying microbes on plants. For sure it's important for the plant growth. But I would strongly discourage use of chlorinated tap water. Chlorine is there to kill microorganisms. Best to use rainwater or spring water, or let water stand for a while.

You can activate only 1 time. If you keep doing it, the balance of the groups of microbes changes and several of the microbes die.

From the functional point of view,,what is the difference between activated and concentrate form of EM1 aside of the molasses part..? Does it’s need always to make activated EM1 ready to be diluted later when watering for household plant watering ..? Or simply mix with water is enough..?
@yoriichi33473 жыл бұрын
You don't need to activate EM-1 to molasses and wait for 7 days fermentation. The reason a lot of people activate EM•1 is to make more of it that's it. You can directly dilute it in water and spray in your garden.

Can you use EM-1 on seeds
@Teraganix4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Use 1tsp per gallon of water and soak the seeds for 10 to 30 minutes, depending on size. Personally, I like to put the seeds on a towel and spray it with the solution above and fold the towel over. I've had seeds sprout overnight.

I'm a little confused as I watched another video showing how to activate EM-1 by mixing with molasses and fermenting. But on your website it says To make activated EM-1, just fill the reservoir of a hose-end sprayer with EM•1®, as you would with any fertilizer, and spray all your plants.
@Teraganix3 жыл бұрын
We got that corrected. To activate mix a 1:1:20 ratio of EM-1:molasses:water, put in an airtight container, allow to ferment for about 10 days. The final pH should be between 3.2 and 3.8.

@itslawrence23223 жыл бұрын
em1 is now too expensive you can make your own em1 9tbs molasses and 9 tbs EM1 mix them in 1 gallon then store them in shade area.
@Teraganix3 жыл бұрын
Store the EM-1 in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. You do not have to make the activated EM, but it does save you quite a bit of money. Only make what you need for a month to 6 weeks at a time and dilute with water for application.

@Teraganix4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is used in raising fish around the world. Calculate the volume of water in (gallons or liters) and divide by 10,000. That is how much activated EM-1 you need to apply every month. Divide by 4 and that is how much per week. Simply pour anywhere into the pond and keep applying regularly throughout the year.

this company is making it sound like they invented this product and have even used EM-1 as the product name, EM-1 just stands for effective microorganisms and has been made for hundreds of years in KNF, You can easily make this yourself at home with a very easy recipe, dont fall for this....
@Teraganix7 жыл бұрын
EM-1 is not the same as these wild cultures that are taught in KNF. EM-1 was created, or 'discovered, as Dr. Teruo Higa likes to call it, in the 1960's. There are similarities, mainly in the fact that KNF recipes are pretty much just lactobacillus cultures. However, the EM-1 contains three groups of microbes: Lactic Acid Bacteria, Yeast, and Photosynthetic Bacteria in certain balance that one cannot simply make at home.
@jabudmon44315 жыл бұрын
Dr. Teruo Higa made it at home and so can anyone else! BUT they've been perfecting their recipe and they also have 40-60 years of RND. I doubt our "EM1" would be as good as theirs especially on our first try. Im about to go test teraginx EM1 now :)
