One of the greatest movies and true stories I’ve ever witnessed. Genuine acting and action. A great ending to the madness he endured. I can’t hate this movie.

@dobrivojedjordjevic6844 watch the movie and see. If you did and you did not read based on a true story then you totally missed it. This is a Haitian man who was beat so bad they took a photo of it to show how bad slavery was and what were being done to these people the scarring of the repeated whips were so much and the fact that he lived and escaped the clutches of his captors all while going through swamps and fighting alligators is a testimony that the Lord can help anyone who believes in Him. That’s what’s true about it. It makes me humbled and proud like nothing else.

6000 years of slavery in this iteration of civilization and we are meant to believe that the masters just let it go. please ponder for a moment, we are all in economic chains striving, grappling and fighting each other for an existence that does not nourish our bodies but takes away its longevity. the humanity of this film is very confronting

Poor critic reviews and poor box office attendance. Too, Will Smith is attempting to shake being box office poison after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Still, it is a story that needs to be told, and the director was willing to take a chance on Smith.

Very disappointing movie. Django had much more of true data in their film than this one. Will Smith tries to show you his interpretation of slavery. Again, very disappointing.

As a black man slavery and all racism, makes no scientific sense at all. The origin of mankind and our current species, known as Modern Humans come from Africa ( 250K years ago). Mankind started in Africa and as dark skinned or black, which later adapted to other environments, to be called races. However that's not scientifically true either because, we are from one human race. Our human characteristics are influenced by UVR's and diet in one stationary environment by 1000's of years, which adapts to make you unique in characteristics. So if ancient black modern humans can adapt to become, White, Asian or Latino, the opposite is also true with anyone group that's stationary long enough in one environment. All racist people, are basically uneducated about how they became who they are, so yes people have different cultures, their first ancestors still came from the African continent.
