As the quad universe expands, I think it would be awesome if betaflight had a built-in "suggested tune" listing of drop-down PID profiles you could just punch in. There could be some for whoops, 3", 5", 6", 7", X-Class, Beast-Class, racing, long range, bad motor, too much prop wash....it would be really nice to have a starting off point for the type of quad we have. Yes, I admit I am lazy and dread PID tuning.

Thank you for the review and reconsidering the tinyhawk, I have had mine since December 1st and couldn't understand why you where not very happy with it. I have also had project mockingbird on mine since day 1. I think I flew 2 packs on stock tune then went to this tune and have loved it ever since. Seeing as you hadn't tried the project mocking bird tune until now I see why you didn't think it was amazing to fly. Thanks for the honest content JB.

Wow..I have to say I was not expecting much out of this little quad. These changes have completely transformed this little bugger. I didn't necessarily like all of the settings but after tweaking it performs nearly as good as the mobula7..just a little slower. On acro, the loops and flips are still sluggish to recover, but the throttle is much more responsive now. In door flying is now fun. This has made me rethink using default betaflight PIDS, which have been pretty darn good for most of my built quads...but I think I can do better now.

I added some expo in on the transmitter on Rpy to make it a little less sharp. Really like it. I also used a throttle curve that jumps straight up early in the curve. Moves the cruising throttle spot down on the stick. It doesn't even hover until almost 50 percent throttle. This also gives a lot more linearity to the throttle.

I put project mockingbird settings on my tiny hawk(acro) and it flies great, I have changed a few minor things, but I've literally worn out a set of motors already. The motors wouldn't start up at the same time, and it was getting weaker. Once I swapped them out it flew like new. I would say well over a 100 hours flight time. I put it through incredible punishment as well, slamming into rock walls, and tree trunks so many times every time I was sure it was the last, but it's still kicking, and with practice you can do some pretty cool freestyle.( I really want a 2s tiny hawk because the 1s is under powered for proper freestyle)

I put the Project Mockingbird settings on my Tinyhawk before even taking my first test flight. I knew their settings made a huge difference on my crummy Eachine QX65, so I figured their brushed whoop tweaks were worth testing. I have no idea if it makes a difference, Joshua, but I've also borrowed Mark Spatz's brushed whoop filter settings. I'm assuming I got these numbers straight from one of his videos. My Gyro Lowpass 1 is at 150, and D Term Lowpass 1 is at 200, both are set to biquad. If I understand correctly, the biquad filter has less latency than the PT1 filter. Thanks for the update!

I totally agree on PMB on my Tinyhawk made it go from a good quad to an amazing one. Also, no PBM profile exists for Mobula7 but I put the Tinyhawk settings on the Mobula7 (on 1S) and it also flew better. For me, the PBM setup on my Tinnyhawk cut my lap times by about 30% and it improved my Mobula7 (on 1S) lap times by 15%. I did add some expo and made some tweaks to the auto level so it is not quite as brutal but I would say I am 95% PBM V3 stock tune.

I'd also like to know. Do people use PMB for acro freestyle? I'm mainly using my Tinyhawk in playgrounds and small parks. I just love playing around the branches of tress or trying to hit super small gaps. It's my very first FPV quad though, having only flown LoS before, and it's also my first time learning acro. So I don't have a base of comparison for how a quad for freestyle "should feel like".
@FarmerFpv5 жыл бұрын
@@Octav4homemade I don't think it's a good idea because you will be picking up bad habits. You want the quad to fly as raw as possible in acro mode. Any yaw roll coupling will make it really weird. This is more for angle or auto level. And the stock PIDs work awesome on pretty much any 5 inch mini quad. And will fly 20 times better than this.

I don't know actually where to start to get the whoop back in the air. Do I have to flash the firmware first...or just go get the RTF dump. A procedural video/explanation would be quite helpful for beginners. I've seen your BetaFlight tutorials but the setting are for other types of quads. Here I simply would like to get back the 'factory' square one. thanks.

Hello, first off all a big thank you for your informativ and teaching videos. I like watching them as mostly no question is left open after watching full video. Im happy to take that into my buying decisions in my copter hobby. This time I ask myself and I can not find anywhere the correct answer. Is it possible to bind an tinyhawk 2 copter from set (rc/ Goggls/copter) to an frsky xlite. I am really unsure because the sparepart flightcontroller does not seam to be different, so one pcb for both version. On the other hand on the emax support area are two different dumpfiles. One for the bnf and one for the setcopter. Or is this the only difference I use dump file bnf on a set tinyhawk I have bind and fly? Thanks for anyone who understands my question and has a simple answer. Greetings from Germany
