Wait: it's not only about image. Some cars and brands are MOSTLY bought for the image gain (real or imagined), and this leads us to think the only thing they offer is image. I have been on a Swift, and on a Polo. The overall quality gap is really wide between the two. A car whose quality isn't far from the Polo's, and that costs less, is the new Clio. No doubt the Polo is overpriced (they make people pay for the "image" thing, basically). However, it's also the best mechanically (as for interiors and comfort, the CLio is even better than the Polo I think).
