I’m 17 years old, and I have felt that my calling is in mortuary, I have always been wanting to help families in the time of need when they have lost a loved one to ensure that they are in the proper care and once I graduate high school in 2026 I plan to go to a college that offers mortuary science

Thank you for what you do to all Funeral Directors and Morticians, , I wanted to attend Dallas Institute of Funeral Service back in 1993 and thanks to one of the people in the funeral business allow me to work as an apprentice and I learned I wasn't cut out for the work but I have a great respect for those that are, it's my opinion that people in the funeral business and the medical field nurses and nurses aides usually really are good about serving people and taking pride in what they do and I know of some morticians that have put so much energy and effort and ingenuity into making a body presentable for the family after car accidents and things of that nature and it really helps the family get some closure my hat is truly off to them,,, sincerely, Jerry Jocoy

i, very rarely used the femoral artery during normal procedures where an inquest wasn't performed, 90% of the time i used the subclavian artery for injection of the formalin solution, and theAxillo-Subclavian Vein for evacuation of the blood due to its larger diameter and proximity to the the aorta and vena cava-- in that manner, i was able to remove large clots that occurred within the heart, vena cava and &c. whilst embalming

Embalming in the UK is only done if a family asks for it. I'd far rather see a deceased family member actually look like they've gone than a body that's been made to appear "asleep". That would creep me out.
@drkevinsmithFRCPath Жыл бұрын
embalmed dead people still look dead but they just have better colour such as pink in the cheeks and a proper skin tone. A body that isn't embalmed will have a horrible yellowish white skin tone and will often have a smell after a few days along with skin beginning to slip.

it would be illegal in north america... all bodies that are to be seen during the wake by the public, must be embalmed -- the only time they are not embalmed is when the body goes straight to cremation or, if the body is in to much disrepair to enable a proper embalming procedure, in which case the body would be dbl bagged , a strong solution such as syncav , would be injected by way of hypodermic needles and/or cannulas , and be allowed to permeate the body by way of osmosis , the bag would be hermetically sealed and the casket closed to public ( for ex. if the body was in a fire and the arteries and veins aren't viable )

embalming is a very expensive process that only makes your funeral cost more than it should be. The bodys should be processed into compost instead of a tombstone they should get a tree. It would be way easier on your wallet and it would be better for the environment.

They do offer this way of disposition. It's called promessa. You are being cremated but instead your body is frozen then shaken to create the cremated remains. When the "usual" way of cremation is using with fire and intense heat. But lots of people want their bodies embalmed because it helps to physically see your loved one dead and even touch them for you to grieve. :)

@mcguire6048 жыл бұрын
In short - No.
@OSTARAEB45 жыл бұрын
During an autopsy the organs are removed and examined with tissue samples if the death is an accident, homicide or suspicious. Many states require an autopsy. The man mentioned a viscera bag which can look like a garbage bag or a clear plastic bag the organs are placed back in the abdomen. In some cases, the organs can't fit back in and the body is stuffed with cotton and the funeral director will discreetly slip the viscera bag in prior to burial. In the event a family wants a full viewing, you don't want a viscera bag at the bottom of the casket.
