Hi and thanks for this video! I am noticing performance issues when the linked objects in Powerpoint are saved on a cloud based network (e.g. Egnyte, OneDrive, Box). Also, it would be nice to learn about ways to relink to excel when a new version of the file is created. Any experience with this?

Hey Jonathan - Thanks for watching! 😊 I haven't tried linking to things in the cloud, but good to know about the performance issues. And as far as creating new versions of a file (or renaming it), from what I can tell, it's not possible. You'd basically have to re-link the new file: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/changing-the-name-of-a-file-linked-to-a-powerpoint/c3b6ea9f-57d4-44b1-a1d4-92d84be3de3d

I'm working on a Quiz competition and I want to Hyperlink Question in Excel and same question is in PPT on click of Hyper link in Excel it should open PPT can it happen

Thanks for the video. I am trying to find a solution to a linking problem. I can get the linking to work from a single cell in PowerPoint. But as soon as I start the slide show it breaks the linking and no longer updates until I 'Update Link' again. very frustrating. Tried on two different computers, O365

No. Actually I have the files locally saved. Root drive folder to just remove any possible path issues. It's a very strange problem as I had this working once upon a time. @@TinyTechnicalTutorials

I use Excel and PPT for Mac, and I don't see an option to 'link' the pasted cell with the matching cell in Excel 😞

Hi Wim! 😊 It's been a while since I've used Office on a Mac, but in general, I found features to be more limited than on Windows. I did a quick search, and it seems that perhaps linking/embedding is not supported, though this post is from 2017: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/link-excel-to-powerpoint-with-mac/a6fe5a87-d121-43d4-8939-bb193313d1b6

arg. It seems as if you can no longer format linked or embedded Excel worksheets in PPT -- so can't match formatting of your template, change colors, fonts, etc in PPT. What the heck Microsoft!!!!
