The last for loop is not required for this program. if you want to display the character in 0x40, then please send only '0' as data. means without for loop.
For each CGRAM address,
Cgram 0x40 data 0
Cgram 0x48 data 1
Cgram 0x50 data 2
Cgram 0x78 data 7
When you use all the 8 cgram locations. you need to use the for loop. otherwise send respective data alone as above.
