Great vid man, getting some early Freddie Mercury vibes when you play the "spread thirds" with you vocalising the melody \m/ lol

Hi Jason. I have been binge watching your videos for the past seven days after discovering your channel. What an amazing resource it is! I have one question please - I have written a Pentatonic melody in G minor, what I would love to know is when harmonising my melody with Thirds I am at a sticking point with regard to harmonising the F note in the melody, now should I use the diatonic A note as the Third OR should I stay within the Pentatonic scale and move up a semitone and use the Bb note? Thanks in advance for your time.

Harmonising a pentatonic melody can be done from the parent major scale! That workds out really well. I've done a video on this subject. Can you please watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmOtioN7j5yhgrc

@@nathanielschool Thank you so much for your reply. I am still struggling with embellishing a minor pentatonic melody with thirds as I don’t know what third note to use when it comes to embellishing with thirds for instance the F note of the minor Pentatonic melody (should I use the A note or Bb note? - the Bb note stays within the Pentatonic scale in the case of G minor & the A note derives from the parent minor scale. To my ear the Bb sounds better than using the A note to embellish the F note...Thanks again Jason 🙏

Note to self..... "Always write down the notes - guessing your notes is not a good idea". So that's why I have a notebook at my piano!!! Time to start using it 😅
