I had no idea that paper could expire and go bad! I better get painting and use up my supply before buying more!

From what I have read up on from the internet, ONLY watercolour paper has this problem; or at least due to the way watercolour works, this is a problem. But, because of the way most other mediums work on paper, it is not a problem. As far as other mediums go, expired watercolour paper still works with them with no problems (except mediums like watercolour pencils when you need to use water to dissolve the pigment). Apparently, mediums like gouache still works on expired watercolour paper. Moral of the story here is DO NOT LEAVE ANY WATERCOLOUR PAPER EXPOSED TO THE AIR FOR A LONG TIME (in my case it was out on my desk for around 5-6 months).
