I don't own enough stuff to make all this stuff yet but I love watching. My hands shake a lot sometimes so it might be easier to work with the laminating pouches than paper. I found out just recently that small dies don't work so great for me cause I can't separate the paper after I die cut with out taring it to shreds cause my hands shake. So I want to get some bigger dies that I can work with maybe. I tried to make my husband a birthday card. I used the Happy Birthday die and tore it to shreds trying to get the words out after I ran it through the machine. So when I get a butterfly die I want to try the laminating pouch. I only have the basic squares, circles and a couple others right now. But soon I hope.
@KarensKardzz Жыл бұрын
That’s too bad Connie that you’re having such a tough time with your hands! You’re probably right about the bigger dies being easier and there are lots of beautiful butterfly dies that are a bit bigger. Also, have you tried putting a piece of wax paper into the die first and then your cardstock? The wax paper helps the cardstock release more easily, so you may find it easier to get the die cuts out. 💕💕

Thank you so much Michele! I didn’t have dies for those butterflies so I fussy cut them out. But if you have a butterfly with a die, you can use the die. You may need to add a shim to cut through the laminating folder. And if it looks like it might separate, I just put them back in a carrier sheet and run them through the laminator again. I hope you have fun with it! 😄❤️❤️

@KarensKardzz Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Nancy! I have tried it with dye inks and I’m sorry to say it doesn’t work very well. They seem to lose most of their colour when you laminate them. But I have tried using some different Cosmic Shimmer metallic gilding polishes and they worked fairly well. 😊💕💕
@barbarahasman651429 күн бұрын
These are beautiful. I am a bit confused though, did you just use a rubber stamp and stamp the butterfly on?
@KarensKardzz28 күн бұрын
Thank you so much Barbara! I did stamp the butterflies on, but you can choose to stamp them inside the laminating folder (and wait for the ink to dry as you need to use a pigment ink), or you can stamp them on the outside after you’ve run the folder through the laminator. In this case, I used the Stazon ink. I hope that helps! ❤️❤️
@JH-wd7ul Жыл бұрын
I have just discovered this video (a year after it was posted), and I must say that this absolutely lovely! I will definitely be giving this a try. I have replayed the video twice but want to ensure I understand... Do you stamp the white image on the inside blank portion of the pouch before laminating? Or should the image be stamped on the outside after it has been laminated? Or does it depend on whether you use pigment or StazOn, and if so, which do you use on the inside of the pouch? Thank you for sharing this wonderful project! ❤
@KarensKardzz Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! If you are using a pigment ink, I stamp that on the inside and then let it dry (which can be overnight). But if you have a Stazon ink, you could use that on the outside. I have also used VersaMark ink and embossed on the outside, so that’s another option. The dye inks won’t work at all, either inside or outside. I hope that helps and hasn’t made it too complicated. 😄💕💕

Beautiful! Why do you put it in another paper through the laminator?
@KarensKardzz10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I find that if I’m adding in any glitter or other things into the laminating pouch, the glitter will shift around if I don’t support it well enough with the sheet of paper. But I frequently run it through a second time without the extra paper to make sure it gets a good seal. I hope that helps… 😊💕💕

@KarensKardzz Жыл бұрын
I’ve managed not to melt my laminating pouches so far 😄, but I am careful to have my gun pre-heated and keep it moving around. It can also help to reseal the pouch if it starts to separate after cutting or folding. I hope that helps. 💕💕
@Psalm_27.4 Жыл бұрын
I am rather confused. Did you make these butterflies from scratch or use a pattern? You mentioned something about the butterflies being from a British stamp maker, Chocolate Baroque, yet I see you cutting out your own butterflies. How did you get the white lines on the butterflies? I’m really confused!! Please clarify if you’re using the Chocolate Baroque butterflies as a pattern or not. Would you be so kind as to show HOW you drew the lines on the butterflies?
@KarensKardzz Жыл бұрын
Hi, those butterflies are made from the Chocolate Baroque stamps. I stamped them onto the laminated folder with VersaMark ink and then covered them with white embossing powder which I then heat set. Once they had cooled down, I cut around the butterflies with scissors. I hope that helps ... 😀
