Soren is surprisingly sweet to a couple different characters. He's rude to the ones who hit on him or offer unsolicited advice, neutrally polite to most others, and outright kind, in his way, to those who genuinely seem to need it. this includes the child characters, the princess who keeps getting torn down for her gender, and Alcryst, from what I've seen. like, let's be clear, he's never going to be the nurturing type, but what gentleness there is in him, he offers when it's appropriate. you just have to have your expectations appropriately calibrated in order to see it.

To give you an insight to Sorens character in the Tellius series: Basically he was abandoned and only had two people in his life who didn`t treat him like shit. One was a kindly scholar, who took him in and taught him magic, but died too early and the other one was Ike as a kid. It was due to Ike seeing him as a friend that he joined the Greil Mercenaries and found people to care about. But the mistreatment he got made him jaded and pessimistic, so he barely has the patience for other peoples nonsense.

I dunno much of anything about making simple designs that somehow stand out against other simple designs for over 20 years. Still, I think I'll always prefer simpler designs. @@psycholuigiman dont worry even if you are not too into design you can still see it and you are right, i personally love simpler designs and out of fire emblem characters that are more modern is only male byleth that gets a pass(for me), and one thing is that when you start to analyze designs lets say the OG fire emblem dudes in smash, marth and roy make sense they are connected to royalty so they have a particular delicate and careful design,Ike broke that mold by being a ordinary person that is a mercenary, normal clothing with some tearing and even more exposed or less protected areas of the body then we get to modern designs that are more modernized Chrom,Byleth and Alear for example are way more flashy and armor is more compact or refined to be less visible
