I remember hearing the first version of Sing Winter more than a decade ago. I had a beautiful marriage torn apart by adultery and my heart was devastated. I would go on to spend my twenties alone and so many Christmases by myself; however what a beautiful season of drawing so close to God. I went through the deepest sorrow but what joy my heart learned in allowing vulnerability. Now I’m standing in a beautiful house full of little feet running around and a blessed marriage. This Christmas is so full. Of course the journey of motherhood has its own winter season, and as I listened to the new version of sing winter with the matured voices I can’t help but reflect on all the years God has brought me through. What a faithful, loving God we serve! Thank you so much for this beautiful conversation and the amazing songs you guys create and release. I’m looking forward to listening to the new album as I bake Christmas goodies and look out on the beautiful snow falling out my kitchen window. Winter certainly sings a beautiful song.

As a singer and once-in-a-blue-moon song writer, I really appreciate the bits of Cageless Birds songs and talks I find on KZbin. You folks help the Holy Spirit feed my soul when the “sameness” of my worship facilitator role begins to wear on me. Y’all encourage me in all the aspects of what I do as a music person. Thank You and Merry Christmas!
