Aw yay, so glad to hear :) One of my first pieces I ever made was a house portrait. While they may look intimidating they are actually pretty simple to make, just time consuming!

Hey! Found your video while looking up house portrait embroidery tips. You have great content! What stitch or technique would you recommend for a house with cedar shakes? I’m struggling to get them to be as defined as I want them to be
@saintrogersstreet Жыл бұрын
Hey Tiffany! Thanks :) I have actually never stitched a house with cedar shakes before, but I think I would satin stitch each cedar shake vertically in slightly different colors to give them a bit more definition. Or perhaps even mix some strands of floss, like 2 light brown and 1 dark brown, to give it more of a grainy wood look. Or you could use this color combo and satin stitch thin stacked rows across the house and then later add a one strand horizontal straight stitch in between each row to further define them. I hope that’s helpful and makes sense! Too bad pictures can’t be submitted in the comment section here to better show what I’m imagining!
