I’m still new to embroidery. I’m learning on KZbin about what I can do on my Stellaire. Melinda Bigley is great! My question is do I need software to download a design so I can put it on a thumb drive and add it to my machine? I have bought a couple of files tried to unzip them and add them to a thumb drive. Several times it didn’t work. I have watched videos on how to do it. I’ve downloaded(and deleted) some free software and I wasn’t able to even use it, it wouldn’t let you do anything, I couldn’t click on anything,it was all greyed out. If buying software is what I need, which ones are user friendly? I hear a lot about embrillance,.

You need to ensure that the files you downloaded and save in the USB are in the correct format for your machine. Also the right size too. If the file doesn't fit within the hoop size the machine won't bring it up. You won't need software if you are using designs you buy "as Is". But having the software is helpful if you want to modify the design. I use embrillance. I have several videos on it. I also have videos on the channel on transferring files to your machine.
