Embroidery on Knitwear! | Community tutorials

Embroidery is a really simple and fun way to add additional embellishment to your finished knits. We’re going to work with three stitches for this project: French knot, woven wheel stitch and fishbone stitch. A touch of hand stitching on a handmade sweater makes it extra special, and Warunee Bolstad from Plystre Knitwear is here to show us how to do it!

Very cute! How did you begin and end your stitches? I usually use anchor stitches and waste knots. But are real knots needed for items that are going to be worn?

Dear LoveCrafts, thank you for sharing this amazing video! Can you give me some advice please? I´ve made a chunky sweater with super chunky yarn (4wpi) and I would like to embroidery something like you do in the video but I´m not sure if it will be successful with this embroidery thread (cotton) on chunky yarn? Or would it be better with wool thread? Thank you in advance! :)

What is the material that the flowers are traced on ? Interfacing ?

Hi Ana Marie, it's a water soluble interface called Solvy - I think you can buy it in a lot of craft shops, unfortunately we don't stock it at the moment. You can just use a hoop and embroider without it though - both processes work! Hope that helps, kindest wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x

Sometimes I adjust the speed of a video under settings and then mute it so it doesn't sound odd.
