I have found that KZbin in general provides a plethora of training regardless of the machine. In terms of actual training on a specific machine...it takes hands-on practice to encounter "glitches" or "issues" in order to learn your machine. I own a Melco and learn as much from Ricoma's videos as I do Melco, Redline, SWF, and other manufacturers videos. I find each manufacturer has something greater over the others but most can collectively round out a diverse learning program for you. There are practices that are universal. I mean if I run my machine and never have an issue, my depth of knowledge in my machine will be minimal. The value of support from the manufacturer cannot be underestimated as this interaction is where the learning happens but hooping a cap on a car driver is going to be largely universal since the OEM cap driver is going to be relatively the same across brands. For instance, I followed the scheduled maintenance protocol for my machine exactly as instructed. When I found that my x-axis tension cable was under spec, I corrected it and began having problems with timing, thread breaks, etc. When I contacted support, I found that each machine has itrs own personality and sometimes "spec" can be nuanced. They helped correct my issue and I have been running great since! Because of that interaction with Support, I learned a point of behavior about my machine....and I also learned some added benefits like the best needle to use and thread brand that Support found works best with my machine model. It is important to go with a brand that provides ample documentation for the machine AND the design software. My experience has been that learning the actual machine comes quite quickly...it is the interface and software that has the largest learning curve since that is the point where the user is confronted with a multitude of changing scenarios and one interface to accomplish the task at hand.
