Hey Zach! Awesome video. I have a question about the IVC formation. Moore's embryology mentions that the renal portion of the IVC is formed by the anastomosis of the supracardinal and subcardinal veins and that the postrenal portion is formed purely by the supracardinal veins. I thought that sounded very wrong and I did research it a bit more but couldn't find a definitive answer. Do the supracardinal veins contribute to the formation of the IVC or only of the azygos-hemiazygos system?

I think the anastomosis between subcardinal and supracardinal veins form part of postrenal portion, and the renal portion is formed by part of subcardinal vein between supra-subcardinal anastomosis and the channel connecting subcardinal with right hepatocardiac channel
