Just want to say congrats. I haven’t been watching for a long time (maybe three-five months) and you really left a mark on my view of drumming. Now in 2 days I a trombone player am trying out for my high school drum line. Thank you! Edit: high* not higher Edit 2: it’s now day 2 of placements so far so good. Edit 3: (last one). I have officially made my schools snare drum line and have been one of the only freshman to do it in a very long time!!!

Honestly, thank you got doing the leg work on the research. I'm a drummer with 386 subscribers, so I'm obviously trying to grow my channel and experiment with different thumbnails and titles, and it seems like those are really anecdotal elements to a video. I don’t really get what you some tube drummers do. They are limited to what they are working with by playing to a backing track. There is no one to tell them to “reign it in a bit, it's too much” "listen to what's being played and add". Having played drums for 33 years and still play regularly, sitting with a group of people and playing live, having that musical conversation be it playing, rock, pop, jazz, Latin, is the best form of musical expression. I don’t see how playing to a backing track can be seen as nothing other than another way of practicing.

Interestingly, when looking at this list you can see that it is mostly not about drumming. It's about showing off, one way or another. For example, none of these 14 drummers are on the Drummer World Top 500 drummers list. Only YT drummer that I know that is on the Top 500 list is Yoyoka. And she has only around 200k subscribers. Or, A-Yeon, average drummer at best, has 2.32M subscribers. Senri Kawaguchi, probably the best female drummer in the world, has only 154k subscribers.
