PS don’t underestimate that joy that those of us who don’t have horses get from just hanging out with you as you go for a hack. The English countryside is amazing (I live in Manhattan) and just vicariously being out and about with you is so much fun compared to watching manufactured tv.

Em, don’t apologize. Speaking for myself, I’ve missed hearing from you but I also realize that you have a life and want to do more than edit videos! I always appreciate and enjoy your uploads when you can do them. As a non-vlogger I take waaaay for footage than I will ever look back on. It takes real discipline to do what you do while maintaining your own life. I just wish KZbin wouldn’t ‘punish’ those who aren’t full-time vloggers by deprioritizing them.

Aww, please don't worry about trying to get vlogs out. It is amazing you manage to get the ones you do get out. Working full time in a busy job, planning and organising your wedding, caring for your horses and Narla is manic. So we'll done and thank you. I personally love your 'boring' everyday activities with your horses. Lol I live my love of horses through your vlogs. So just do what you can, when you can, it is much appreciated xxx

When they're young/green, every experience is a good experience. She's only going to get better from this trip, even if you don't feel it was foot perfect. Glad you will be out and about more. Missed seeing your updates regularly, but I also know how winter goes. Things don't seem exciting, everything is grey, and it's often too dark to film anyway! lol Hope the wedding planning goes smoothly from here. I didn't even really have one and still turned into a bit of a bridezilla. It's just the pressure of planning what we're told is supposed to be one of the best days of our life. Expectations are high and it's stressful. Horses help with that... usually!

Glad to see you out at it enjoying your animals. Addie looked so amazing in sun while being groomed. So much orange brown that is about to go away with her spring coat! And that sun rise shot was glorious. Keep putting the strides in... you’re making progress 😊

I loved it. It is impressive to see the growth in Addie. And I was a little snotty watching all those buckskins/duns warming up and thought (kind of mean I know) None are as pretty as Addie! And her mistakes were normal ones. She has done a lot in the past year and the event season has just begun!!

It's a pleasure to be able to follow your and Addie's journey together as well as your constant growth and development. Learning from each other. She is looking softer and rounder week after week (of course I'm not an expert! ☺) and that's because of your skills. I think you ride and sit so beautifully!! Really enjoy your vlogs! I really enjoy your riding and how you approach your training and horses. Hi Emily, great video as usual. Just a thought... we have a young horse that we have been bringing on over the winter too and we find that when we do a competition like combined training or arena eventing , we enter the 80cm and the 90cm so if its been a little sticky and green in the 80cm ...usually both the horse and rider are feeling much more confident in the 90cm and we finish the day feeling very positive... usually !! It might be worth trying that and get all the nerves out the way in the 80 and then enjoy the 90 after your ned has already had a good look at the arena!! Would definitely recommend... Are you going to ALW on the 2nd for the final ? Hope your season is happy and we might see you some where ?

Hi Sue, thank you. That is a very good point and something I will work towards, think I've always been worried she might not have enough fitness for 2 rounds and wouldn't like to make a mistake from tiredness. Which is probably me over-worrying but hopefully now her fitness levels are increasing we can do that next time. x

I'm intrigued how you were taught grooming - do you not use curry combs to clean the brushes normally? I guess we were still in old school era but pony club were very exact with how we approached grooming and yes - baths once or twice a year.

I never did Pony Club as a childn but learnt from my mum and she was very much of those ideas too and did teach me but time has gone on I would only every now and then clean the brushes out never realised after each stroke x

With the brushes, do you ever wash mane and tail? I don’t bathe mine a lot, he doesn’t like it anyway, but manes and tails get gross. Do the brushes help with that or do you still need to wash them?

Yes the brushes help with that too and also by brushing it encourages hair growth x

42:11 hitting your horse does nothing but confuse and frustrate them. A solid leg and confident eye line will do much more than smacking your poor horse with a crop.
