Hi Alex, very nice episode as always! The orange lights on emergency vehicles were only required after legislation was changed in 2009. This new legislation required that emergency vehicles had blue lights and orange lights and it required a two tone. Before this only fire trucks had orange lights, I can't recall seeing much ambulances or police vehicles with orange lights before that. After an amendment in 2014 the two tone became strictly enforced, meaning the end of the nice three tone. Nowadays it is very common to use orange lights only on the scene, except for the first vehicle securing the scene. This should be less distracting for other traffic and provides a more secure scene for emergency personnel.

Hello Alex, I'm from the Netherlands. And we still have the Chevrolet Ambulances Driving around. And all emergency services have two tone sirens since 2009.

Its strange with the GM/Chevy because we had cities here in sweden that had the "box" type on a GM. Today they still have them but also VW Touareg with "box" while other cities have Volvos and here in Stockholm we have MB Sprinter / Vito, VW T5, Renault Master and a "Notarzt" in a Renault Espace. It seems like different counties decided to never change what type of ambulance (only changing manufacturer) (except in Stockholm were we earlier hade MB and Volvo built in normal cars, and not vans like today) In the north they favour AWD vehicles from VW or Volvo/Nilsson. The strangest creation is however the SAAB Wiman 90 000 (the emergency phone number at that time): www.stockholmsambulansen.se/historia/21914r.htm
