My Filipina family friend said that some are getting hungry in the Philippines because things are so locked down. She was supposed to be in the US by March, but that was thrown out the window. :'( Happy Ramadan! ❤❤❤

Aww I hope your friend stays safe! yea its a really difficult situation in the Philippines because a lot of people live by hand to mouth - meaning, they can only earn enough food if they worked that day. So these people definitely dont have any savings and are suffering right now. Let's remember them and all the others suffering during this time while we fast for Ramadan and inshallah donate or support/promote charities that help the poor

Yes alhamdulillah! It's crazy though cos my other classmates from India are still going through this cos their borders just opened cos their government sent a rescue flight for them. But the Philippine government cancelled all visa processing so a lot of them had expired visas and had to wait 12 hours in the airport just to be turned away and asked to come back the next day and try again..... when they finally did get on, their government tried to force some of them to stay in completely inhabitable and unsanitary places to quarantine. I'll send you my friend's story on instagram! Just so much injustice man and no one is talking about it
