Wow, some haters on here. I agree with your decisions. Maintenance could use a little work but that's an important lesson for literally everyone.

Astonishing... did you have to have a word with the golf course owners? Clean landing.

Golf course was actually closed and could not get hold of anyone!

@@tfelicivideos well you did all you could. should have taken some clubs and a few balls... completely empty golf course. Need to learn to fly... sounds like an awesome way to get free golf!

@tfelicivideos8 ай бұрын
It would go above idle, but not much above cruise power, so could not climb

Very interesting thanks. At what point were you aware of the problem? I assume you had a little power, just not much or enough to sustain height?
@tfelicivideos4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, Yes correct. Engine would stall if I added power, which meant I could barely maintain height.

Fuel blockage could have stalled the engine at any moment. It is not obvious in the video but at all times I was flying over landable places while choosing my spot

Yes, and all of a sudden after the "emergency landing" we hear a normal roar out of the engine and then the video ends. The story ends without knowing the rest of this suspicious story of a forced landing, that happened to be filmed and ended up on youtube. You Tube seems to have a large number of "engine failures" that end up in controlled landings on roads, streets, freeways, and now a golf course. The need for "emergency landings" due to all sorts of problems, has increased proportionately to the decreasing number of air fields. Bad fuel, blocked fuel filter, are classic excuses because one can simply drain the water, change the filter and take off from what was probably a prohibited landing place. It's one of the few valid excuses a pilot has these days to land where he wants to land but is not allowed to.

As explained in the video the problem was intermittent, and not knowing the cause I had to assume the engine would fail unexpectedly. I was lucky to find such a place to land. Filter was changed by qualified engineer. Interesting point about using this as a convenient excuse. Do people really do that?
