After Nehru's death, Congress was in turmoil, and influential factions were vying for control. Indira fought hard to gain power and later, after being ousted post-Emergency, she made a strong comeback with Congress (I), gaining massive public support. She deserves credit for that. As for the U.S., despite Hillary Clinton’s being influential, voters still chose Trump over her, showing a lack of confidence in a woman leader. The same is happening with Kamala Harris-she's being cat called and mocked just because she's a woman. Although I like Trump, I'm curious to see how the U.S. will vote in the upcoming elections.

You are talking about sardar patel to be more deserving to be a prime minister. But sardar patel died before the first general elections held in 1951. Je died in 1950. So how come he can became a prime minister. No point in blaming pandit Nehru for that I beleive you should history of India post 1947
