This is a good'n! I have and used a single, thicker "tarp" , orange on one side, silver on the other. Twisted my ankle badly-evulsion sprain. Had ibuprofen in kit with plenty of cordage. Gathered myself, ate a nab. Drank some water and tied line between two close trees, lying on top of the silver side with the roof about 18" off of ground. A few hours later, 6 or so, my family got to me. The BEST tool in my day pack? Not my plb, but my plan! I have regular trails and told my wife which one I was using. I was asleep when they came up on me. Statically, I'm done. That should never happen again.

Not sure about that Mylar ground sheet. Seems as though it would conduct your body heat to the colder ground.

Same setup I use for my daypack, I also incorporate a 55 gal trash bag. Great video and thanks for introducing me to more great channels

Thanks for the cam jam idea and pre-tying the tie-out loops. I carry a SOL Emergency Blanket (o d green) and a plastic throw away painters dropcloth with tarp clips and cheap aluminum stakes in my daypack. Thanks for sharing.

Great tarps! I have the 5x7 Multicam and 5x7 Coyote I keep one in my GHB and the other in my Day/hike bag. I set it up for those just in case something happens, and you can't get out of the woods and have to stay a night.... I keep 5 hanks of Paracord, 2 loops, and 2 steaks in each of the stuff sacks.... Funny I keep a grabber space blanket in each bag as well...

I checked out the Bushcraft Outfitters website and the tarp you showed. Looks to be a quality unit and BO doesn't gouge you on freight like a lot of internet vendors. 5 col also appears to be a great vendor to buy from. Thanks for sharing.

I also highly recommend the BCUSA traps as a great light weight option. I have a 10x10 camo tarp that always travels with me. The GRABBER space blanket is my ground cloth of choice also. I also add a third option of a large hvy. Mil contractor bag for a groundsheet in case I need the GRABBER to use as an actual wrap around style blanket in COLDER temps.Keep up the great vids, thanks

Nice kit. I need to get me some of those cam jams. I use the fig 9s. I always keep enough gear in my kit to stay overnight no matter if it's a day hike or extended stay. Never know what may take place and have to stay out. I like the shrink wrap idea too.

Great stuff. I love my grabber blanket, very useful. I have been looking at the MEST for a while now. I think I might go with the 10x10 tarp as I need a new shelter. I do like those Nite Ize cams too, I will be getting some of those.

Yo Panz, Silny tarps are awesome...ive been using the same one on long canoe trips for ten years now...a few tiny pin holes nowadays but still keeps the rain off...it takes a licking n keeps on ticking.! never owned a BCO tarp...but ive heard good things!!!...taker easy, but taker!...woods
