The added benefit to having the Olases is that it comes with extra goodies. Like the pressure cup that can also be used as an eye cup for an eye injury. It also has additional folded compressed gause for wound packing. And it also comes with a sheet that can be used as an occlusive dressing for wounds to the chest (like a gunshot wound)

Totally agree! I actually picked up a flat olases as well and I agree with you on duct tape - it’s very useful in wet environments

FYI, they do make a flat folded Olaes Bandage. The only down sude is that it only comes in the 4 inch version.

Especially in a wet environment or moist environment.... regular medical tape will not work. That is when the duct tale comes to the rescue.

I love olaes Bandages. The only issue i have from time to time is that it loses the vacuum seal. And as we all know once the vacuum seal has been compromised, the bandage is no longer sterile. Then I just either dump it or put it on the side and use it for training.

With the longer SAM splint, you can also form it to make a C Collar

I believe in the philosophy 2 is one and one is none. It's better to have 2 or more and not needing to use it. There is no harm with that. Rather than having only 1 and you needed more but you did not; and the person bled out and died. If someone is worried about space, then get the 2 flat folded pressure bandages (Like the Olaes 4" flat folded)

I was standing guard at a front gate at a military base when a guy came walking up saying he needs medical attention because he was cutting down a tree and the chainsaw slipped and took off most of his hand. Never know when you need medical supplies.
@bdogg20101Ай бұрын
Surprised the hell out of me... how the hell he made it that far walking so far with that much blood loss. And he refused an ambulance. But he wanted to go to the medical clinic. Bad news for him, the medical clinic is closed on the weekends so I called him an ambulance anyways.

@Outdoor_Prepper Sure. Awesome video. I have had so many different medical emergencies happen and I was close by and I responded to. Thats why I took as much medical training as possible to be ready in those situations and to be able to help others.

I'm not sure if you would know the answer to my question. The pocket BVM is great because its small and compact. But does I t deliver the same volume as a regular BVM?

Have a Space Blanket for trauma? Along with a CPR Mask and a bottle of water? Great video otherwise.
