1. Crazy edit! Dickson is gnarly. 2. I copped the White Provost edition on pre-order from my local shop about a month ago. Hands down this is the best slip on in the game. Dead serious. No more sizing issues every couple of seasons with the Vans Slip-on Pro, no laces to mess around with like other slip-on/lace up hybrids, and no changing of insoles or any of that bullshit. The shoe looks minimal but has all of the tech of the Wino G6. *Highly* recommended.

Ian Turnbow Vans soles last longer hands down, and they have duracap.

It depends on the season. I find that the Pro editions of Vans shoes have varying soles based on season as well. It's a bit off putting. Duracap can be great, but I always found that it was slippery. Yeah, the shoe lasts longer but flicks like shit.

I loved the Pro editions of the Era and Slip-on around 6 years ago after Vans stepped up and stopped using the Waffle tread with the triangle cut-out in the arch area. However, recent changes around 1.5 years ago have led to all of the Pro editions of the Authentic, Era, and Slip-on to just feel like shit. The insole's heel is too high leading to ankle rolls and an improper fit. Vans changed the fit but kept the insoles the same. It's horrendous.

Emerica, you're blowing it. You were on the right path both with aesthetics, durability and performance with your cupsoles, now Reynolds shoe is the only decent shoe that is left in your current line-up. Sadly no Westgates anymore.

I felt like the company started to heavily step up their game around 5 years ago when they revamped a bunch of shoes. The entire Higher Quality campaign seemed to target cupsoles for the better but some vulc models for the worse. Westgate, of course, left Emerica several months ago. There are still plenty of vulc-cupsole hybrids that work well. Too, there's a new shoe with a screened on toecap that Spanky has a navy blue colorway for.
