Yeah! I'm on the same page with you. But you know, emersed plants growing above water is really awesome. Because they typically grow above water in their habitats. They are well-being in the way so show their genuine beauty of nature. I recommend paludarium, mainly to grow plants above water we can see the natural beauty. I grow moss, buce and anubias in my paludarium.

I have this topic for a video on my list to do. I get in so many conversation and having to trying to explain that it probably wasn't the dealers fault and they jumped the gun and threw it away. I always ask, "how was the roots?" and most of all the time they say that the roots looks fine and full. In order to do up a company to ship only submersed plants would take tons of labor and space. You forgot to mention, emersed plants has a bigger chance to survive shipping too ;)

Im not really a new hobbiest but ive not owned a tank for like 15 years. But im growing plants emersed atm for the future. I've spent £50 on plants and im dublicating them and slowly growing a carpet out to save money and start working towards my dream scape. Currently using a plastic tubs that are placed in a window that faces the sun. Im currently moving them away from the window though through the night to a warmer part of the house.

Sir, Would u say few examples of floating, fully submerged & half submerged with some portions of plant above water level. Is waterlily, lotus floating? How do fully submerged plants get their food?

I don't have a problem waiting on plants to convert over after being submersed in my tanks. It just takes a little patience is all. Great info!

I'm absolutely amazed by the fact you don't use a nutrient rich substrate for your plants! I supposse the co2 and natural sunlight are the magic in there. Excelent video as always Jacob.

I just added a purple waffle plant into my planted low tech tank. It was fully submerged at my local fish shop. I know its not a true aquatic plant but im going to see how long it survives. Hopefully a while. Have you had any luck with these non true aqautic plants?

this is especially when it comes to getting pearl weed sometimes the leaves look a little bit less pointy and slightly little bit more rounder because it's been grown immerse out of water The leafs will be a bit smaller and I absolutely love your tanks they are so beautiful I'm just waiting for it to transition to submerse

Hi jacob how do you remove disease from the plants ?

Thank you! I think it would be GREAT if sellers educated their buyers like you do, Jacob! But too often, how a plant has been grown isn't in an online listing (at least here, in AU). You see a picture of a plant, under water & at it's prime, so that's exactly what you believe you're getting. To me, when I was starting out, both words: "immersed" & "submerged" , meant "under water". I thought I was just being told I was buying an aquatic plant =/

Ad Astra In the case of Liverpool Creek Aquarium, Z-Aquatics, Aquagreen etc. everything they sell can be grown submersed. It's less maintenance and cost, and usually quicker to grow them emersed.

I've bought from Z-Aquatics & they're great, also plants-aquatica on *-bay is very helpful too. I just think it would be better if plants were more openly declared as immersed or submersed. If I'd known straight up from other sellers that I'd experience melt back etc ahead of time, I wouldn't have had such a rough learning curve is all. I stuck with it & got the hang, but many don't & just go for crappy plastic from one bad experience onward! Cheers you ;)

Ad Astra I'm a Cryptocoryne collector so I grow a tonne of stuff emersed (immersed and submerged are more or less the same thing in this context). The problem is they aren't grown in very high humidity so they don't transition as well. They do handle shipping better however. I agree they should though, and I believe in the case of liverpool creek when you select a quantity it will say submerged/emersed. At least with everything I have bought. Depends on how into plants you are 😂

Immersed grown plants in many ways r better than submerged one... They normally dont cary paste snail or algae .. i had been in planted hobby for many years n as per my exp if u provide adequate co2 n EI doaing they will b fine..in many case ( like emersed grown Anubias ) they will keep their emersed grown leaves as well. Glad u put tjis video

Hi great video, I just wanted to ask, I just got a amazon sword from you 3 days ago, and the leaves are melting, is it just transitioning, because it was emerged or it is just getting used to my water, or is it dying? I thought that it was just dying off and growing new leaves hat adapts to my water, since I don't think it was grown emerged, but I don't know. Thanks love your channel

Yup, just got to be patient. Leave them there and do your regular maintenance, you will see that they start coming back to life. We cant see what's going on below the substrate, we only see the leaves. They are actually growing new roots underneath and once they get all the nutrition, they finish the transition process and we then start seeing new leaves and stems

Hey! Thanks for the info. I have heard that to but haven't thought about it. I have had aquariums my whole life. Most of the time without live fish in.. Mostly because its was empty while I was not where I'm from. Accouple of times because of neglect. Now I just turned 42 and have several tanks with live fish in 😊 I just started to wonder why I have spent more on plants this time and still my tanks are empty compared those here on KZbin. Sometimes google actually saves you both time and money while the same for someone and every one the world. The visible hand or not the invisible. This can't possibly be something to the east manipulating me? I'm just the left if Russia. Greetings ! And loong live tbe free worlds free words!
