Emerson was my top #2 college choice after Hampshire College in Amherst. Back when I was applying to colleges (early 90's), I WISH I'd had your videos to use as a contrast. I ❤️"d both Hampshire & Emerson pretty equally, but you could see for yourself the VAST (rural v.s. urban campuses for starters) differences between both. If you have a walking tour of Sarah Lawrence College, then there's my top three. 😆👍

Just does not have that college vibe to me at all!

It's because Emerson is an urban campus, that's one of the reasons why. Emerson is like NYU, but just smaller and in Boston.

@@tillyboos BU is an urban campus and definitely still has a college vibe. So do quite a few other urban campuses.

@@AyeeeItsCam I agree with you that there are plenty of urban campuses that have a more "collegiate" vibe. BU has a central "campus hub" though. Marsh Plaza gives BU that sense of a "central campus." Emerson doesn't have that, so it's a much more "decentralized" vertical urban campus, but Boston Common acts as a "central campus plaza" for Emerson since a lot of it's buildings are right off of it. That's why I compared Emerson to NYU. NYU has a completely decentralized campus as well, but Washington Square Park acts as a sort of "campus plaza" for NYU because a lot of the University's academic & residential buildings are clustered around the park. I applied to Emerson myself (both as an undergrad and a grad student) but at the time I was applying to college, I wanted a small, really centralized personal intimate suburban/rural campus, so Emerson became my second choice. Emerson is a good school though, and definitely has a campus culture and a vibe and a community, but it's NOT like other colleges. It's REALLY specialized and it's emphasis is on the Arts & Communications, so that may also have something to do with what you're mentioning.

What am I missing here? For a film school this tour is zero interesting and zero informative
