An old friend invited us over to his apartment during a junior high school skip day during the early 80's ( '81) and played this guitar sequence for us. He was highly talented musically but tortured too and succumbed to drugs shortly afterwards. He was a kind soul and everyone cheered for his future success in music, life but unfortunately, we all have our demons! This song reminds me of the fleeting innocence of our youth, the kindness of most people then, and great music allows us to revisit these memories with mixed emotions. R.I P. Doug!

When I think of the iconic bands that were in the spotlight back in the '70s, I think of ELP. I still adore their music.

This masterpiece was played on an AM radio station in Santa Maria Ca in 1973, and our school bus driver played that radio station for us on our way to High School in Lompoc CA......hearing that now takes me back to sitting on that bus hearing that song.....I am now 67, I was then 16.....WHAT to do with THAT? God is great!

I don't care that it doesn't sync up, I'm just happy to see the beautiful footage of Greg that I've never seen before. Lovely video.

Greg Lake is perhaps the most under-appreciated artist in music history. Seriously.

That first chord strum always gives me goosebumps. ELP got me through my teen years. (1960s-70s.) God, I still love this song.
