Great description, I hear more of the extended highs then the extended lows in the standard X. I actually prefer the standard over the other models.

Amazing sound! Coolest sounding bass I've ever heard! What amp are you using? What else do you need besides an EMG bass to get this sound?

What a great review and guide! Helped me a lot I wonder if the CS-X or the A-X would suit better for fretless bass!? What would be your suggestion to achieve both the Jaco-sound and a more mellow singing tone?

Where did you get the PJA-X soapbars from? I don't know much about EMG and am interested in swapping out my Fishman Fluences for these. Thanks in advanced.

Nice comparison video. I have a used 1997 Modulus jazz with EMG's (pole pieces exposed & don't know what model they are & it takes a 9v battery). I'm assuming they came in the bass from Modulus (Modulus doesn't have records of their serial numbers from 1997). My knobs are MASTER VOL/BLEND/TREBLE/BASS. For the type of music you play I was curious as to what set of EMG J pickups you would choose, thanks.

Yes Rodney is an endorsee all you can get is the 35 40 and 45 P4 and j4 as well as the x versions

You can get any version i played in soapbar or standard
