Damn this is a hard transformation. I have this toy and it's still on my display shelf in robot mode. I have no clue to where to start transforming him so I came here. Great Video but I'll just stick to having Megatron in robot mode and I'll never the patience to transform it. Your video is great! A+++

Trust me I'm a teen and I got a good quality knockoff minus the left shoulder not pegging in properly and some parts being loose but after transforming him once into gun mode I left him in it for about 2 years before I decided to change him back so he could go on the shelf my muscle memory worked wonders and i was able to transform him without any kind of instruction it gets better the more you do it my timed record was 5 minutes from robot to gun and 3 minutes from gun to robot

Thank you @emgo316! I've never actually been able to transform him correctly! Today was the first time one of his hip skirts didn't go flying off. Plus I was able to really make sense of placment of them as they formed the handle. Great video!

Man, the MP-36 mold keeps on bringing me that "geeking out" moment LOL! The engineering on this figure is freakin' insane! I have it myself, but Im too scared to transform it just for the fun of it, so I keep on watching everybody elses reviews just to look at the transformation LOL! MP-10 is still the best looking figure in bot mode though, in my opinion, and Soundwave is a good second. But this figure is way up there too! Can't wait to get that MP Hound and the Prime 3.0 in hand, though I have my doubts about the 3.0... Judging by the pictures so far, the 3.0 is far from looking as great as the MP-10.

Me too! I bought this and I wasn't even going to attempt to transform it. Way too hard for me so I have it on display in my game/toy room. You are right about the engineering of this toy. Lots of screws and flips and flaps and tucks etc. Totally insane and worth every penny.

I don’t have a large collection but I dislike transforming MP36 Megatron the most. Gladly Emgo has these videos. I have to come back every time to remind me how to do the shoulders right. And the legs are a nightmare. No other Masterpiece gets as many stress marks from transforming.

There is an expensive solution if you dont want to transform this figure: buy 2 of them. One stays in gun mode and the other stays in robot mode. Problem solved! (And wallet destroyed)

Thanks a lot for making this video! I just got this (actually the IT01 version) and I was very stressed trying to transform it into everything but a broken toy! I was stuck at mark 3:20 of this video because I couldn't figure out how to transform the legs (and had problem working the piece above feet) and the same with the arms, almost having to go back all the way back to robot mode because I didn't noticed I had to flip the "rib cage" up when working the torso/barrel section). I blame the instructions for not being too detailed and myself because my optic receptors were never too good to begin with and they're getting "foggier"! Lol A nice challenge to do when extremely bore that I will avoid because I am afraid to even getting it off the box!

That's a creative way to thin the legs into a gun handle, which is something that had some that decision of Megatron back in the 80s where his legs are unproportionally thin

I cant imagine many kids in the 80s or even now having the patience to go through all of thoese steps to do this. We all know it was and still would be the parents who had to learn it. Cool toy amd I love Transformers ! Megatron was an awesome villain! Am I mistaken or is he supposed to also have an extension or maybe a very large silencer that goes on the front? Not sure if this is the original gen one toy but it looks good! And Ive never seen a real version of the pistol this is based on but this looks like its probably bigger. Wow. Very cool! I watched til he had gotten megatron fully transformed and then was thinkin ok now lets see a video of you changing him back to robot mode. But he included that here. So cool! Nice video as always!

I have to get this figure. The accessories. That come with it was awesome. And I love how the transformation is really complex but the future looks some what simplistic but exactly like the G1. And also the Ruger alt mode is epic especially with the stock extender silencer and the scope.

it took about 10 minutes to transform Megs. About 5 minutes for each side. if he existed in real life it would take him at least that much time to change to alt mode. When looking at how real machines work, the time and energy to interconnect each part effortlessly would be astounding. That would explain why they need so much energon and the necessity of the complexity of the spark and transformation cog.

I know this video is several years old but I was using it to the KO transform my toy house factory 03 Dynastron today, had it a while but never transformed it. Following your video closely it appears the foot assembly on the thf version is different, do you have or have had this version and know how the foot works at all?
