Literally, the first video in youtube with the real time explanation about scales and arpeggios in a solo. Hope will be more videos like this. Are extremely useful and nobody do that.

We're learning a lot about how to build some tension over chords and follow the changes in a Jazz blues in this lesson. One of my favourite lessons on the site :) Hope you all have a wonderful day! /E

This a fantastic instructional format- not to mention a great solo. I would ask, specific half whole vs whole half dim, and perhaps it’d be cool if the concurrent piano chords were onscreen elsewhere for those who aren’t certain, or just to help in application! Awesome vid!

Det är ju helt jävla sinnessjukt va bra du är.. Har själv spelat ca 12 år och förstår knappt tekniken, än mindre teorin bakom dina val av toner. Precis sånt här som får en att vilja fortsätta pusha!

How about this... I am going for sevenths...then ninths...then the minor. Does anyone think Joe Pass had the names of these scales running through his mind? Joe said, Keep it simple. There are three chords. Dominant, Minor, major.
@EmilErnebroGuitar
@EmilErnebroGuitar 4 жыл бұрын
Dominant, minor and major.. Yes - that is exactly what goes through my mind when I’m playing. I never think of these scales and names in the moment. But when you’re learning and practicing, in can be a great thing to categorize and have names for the scales so that that you can learn how to get the sound that you want over each passage in the progression. Yes, Joe Pass said “keep it simple”, but he also knew what scale (and the name of the scale) to use over an altered dominant chord etc. He knew the names.. he just didn’t think about them when he was performing. “Learn it, and then forget it”.. And this video by the way, I just added the scale-info in the moment for fun :) just to make something different.

So - If I understand the point of this learning video, you're actually thinking theoretically BEFORE AND AS you're riffing - not after when you analyze what you've done?
@EmilErnebroGuitar
@EmilErnebroGuitar 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! This is a solo from the lesson and we go through the whole solo in the lesson. (Among many other things) But all these scales, arpeggios and approaches are subjects that we talk about in the lesson. It’s a 70 minute long lesson and you get tabs/notation for all the examples as well as backing tracks. I added the names of the things I play on this KZbin-video just for fun! :)
