Love Emile's work.... so underrated and respected by his peers and fellow artists who were a bit older than him.

5:34 Is a piece of work made by Vincent Van Gogh, not Emile Bernard. The "Young Girl Standing against a Background of Wheat" is Historically booked as Van Gogh's. It was made by Vincent while he was in Auvers-sur-Oise, late June 1890 during the last year of his life. It was at this time that Vincent created several copies of work after Millet, Delacroix, Rembrandt, Dore and Emile Bernard, such as Bernard's Breton Women. One thing is certain, Vincent's copies were never fraudulent or exact. Bernard and Van Gogh were close friends and this work may have ended in Bernard's final collection due to what was originally a friendly exchange, for work exchange was known to exist between the friends. The work was placed in the Washington National Art Gallery and has passed through possible private collection. Do not confuse the several B's within the background wheat as Bernard's authoritative signature. This may have been done by Van Gogh as an expression of Bernard's influence and great friendship.

I would like the title and year that the portrait at 4:15 was painted and any other information as to where you found this as the catalogue raissone of Emile Bernard 's works does not list it. Nicely done.

Your list is incorrect. A few are not by Bernard. Please do your research before posting.

um, should be reversed, Bernard is the inventor of symbolism & Cloisonnim, and made a huge influence on Gaugain's style. He was kind of a wonderkid and should get more attention in art history

I believe he consciously imitated the styles of other artists the way Joyce did with his literature. He was an undefinable virtuoso. Look and you'll see Rembrandt, Cezanne, Manet, Munch, Lautrec, Redon, Seurat,Van Gogh, its simply astonishing. What an amazing artist. I also see Rosettti and the gothics. It's as if to say," I can do that too!" Edit: Wow! I stand corrected. These artists I believed he was influenced by were actually influenced by him!
