Well, Emily’s brother called her a “witch.” So I thought they would physically try to harm her. She lived a dark life and a lot of people she was close to died… she wasn’t able to live her life or be who she wanted to be. But she didn’t die a violent, tragic end like others.

Can’t speak as to specific scene-to-scene details, though. I imagine some of it is made up or changed around for TV.

@@natehatetrain9284 Susan is an orphan and the closest thing susan can do at that time to be with emily is marry emily's brother, base on the poems Emily wrote about susan and the letters that survive, they still or at least emily still loves susan until her death, and the person who swanddle Emily's body at the time she died was susan she's also the person who penned here obituary, Susan get so weary and sick at the time but still manage to wrote something so beautiful for Emily and when Susan died they also used the same 4 lines they used in emily's funeral at her request. Sadly before she died most of the personal letters that this two people exchange in those time didn't survive as it was burn by susan they said it was something emily request to her, perhaps because those letters detail their relationship.
