My first time hearing Emily Bear was this past Sunday, when my 12 year old aughter sent me one of Emily's classical videos. As I observed Emily's fast fingers, I wondered if she played jazz. Ahmad Jamal, Keith Jarrett McCoy Tyner, "Kiko", Joe Sample, and so many others came to my mind, as I continued to be mesmerized by Emily's creativity. I'm 65...and it truly is a blessing to know that there are young artists I can learn from.

She handles herself like an adult and gives credit to her band members. The spotlight doesn't seem to affect her. That is so good to see in such a young person. I love her music, her talent and her maturity.

I also am a seventy year old who has fallen for the music of this amazing young woman. She brings back memories of my youth when I regularly visited Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club. She is to Jazz composing what Alma Deutscher is to classics, although Emily seems to be making her mark also in the world of film scores, Get ready to stand aside John Williams.

I’m blown away by her talent. I am buying a piano for the 6-year old that’s coming with her family to live and work with me in my business. Yesterday Sirius read to me to show she could now read. I noticed her book was up-side-down and when I called it to her attention, she told me that that’s the way the teacher does it! This little girl needs a piano don’t you think?

Can someone tell me what was that last song, before the Flight of Bumblebee. The one that starts at 28:44. Amazing, I could listen to it forever. A week later: I think I have found out: it's an ingenious variation on her song Alika from the CD Diversity. Now it will play in my head all day long. :-\
