I got the Dark Matter for my highschool graduation, it was an album I heard quite a bit when I started writing my masters thesis, and more importantly little box was the last song I heard before defending my masters thesis. Surely a moment where I felt like I wanted to crawl back under the duvet and hide away. It helped me relax, and I defended my thesis and everything went incredibly well. I'll surely both remember the moment and the music I listened to for the rest of my life :)

You are so unbelievably awesome!! I am so excited that I was able to find you in this world of a billion musicians!! You are my new and my most favorite person that I have!! I've only been listening to you for a few years now and you have brought me through a couple of bad things like the pigs down here in Palm Beach county pulled my friend over for a blinker out and this cop found 2 Loricets in my pocket that I take for my broken back and they charged me with a felony and threw me in jail and treated me like garbage so with all the stress I went right into withdrawls and I have emphysema and almost suffocated it cost me 4000 bucks that I didnt have to prove my innocence. I had to sell all my guitars except one!! But Emily listening to you on here especially that BR song Only Rain gave me hope and brought me through that shit!!!! Thank You!! You dont know how much that all meant to me!! I have tears in my eyes right now thinking about it!!! Your songs make me think of the songs from the 60 around the Vietnam war time that had meaning!! Thank you so much for doing this, Emily! When you released this album, it was a very, very dark time in my life as well - and then, exactly when everything was at its worst, we got the opportunity to tour southern Italy for two weeks with my band at the time. Suddenly, I found myself being driven through the nicest landscapes with the nicest weather, drinking good wine and eating the finest italian food, playing music in the evenings, Dark Matter on repeat on my iPod during each change of location, while inside my head it was dark and grey and completely bereft of any joy. The most extreme cognitive dissonance of my entire life. :-D Listening to this now I was back in Apulia, wondering what the hell is going on with this strange thing we call existence, and it made me smile, because I managed to overcome that disastrous phase. Your album played a tiny, but not insignificant role in that process. Thank you!
