Kendal was super brave--a tegu can be an intimidating looking reptile to interact with when you're not familiar with the species. Luckily Ally is basically running puppy software in lizard hardware. She's SO friendly.

Most tegu are plain sweethearts ❤ but they look intimidating for many people. I just tell them mine is like a dog with a hair problem 😂 he is the sweetest reptile i ever had

I actually found this episode much better than the last, the last episode the animals were really rushed through, could do with half the animals to get more of the marvelous information that Emily has to share with everyone. Honestly, v good point. I don't know that Jason will ever get comfy enough to have a scaley pet, but it would be a great way to view Rex and some of the other animals where the animals and ppl feel safe.

Rex is older than Emily though, so a year off might not phase her. I know she can be territorial about her enclosure though. Only Emily and Ed would know what is best, so we can trust them to make good decisions. :)

I also think your unique view on the animals is excellent for education. You should do a Snake Discovery crossover where you host the building and have the world meet some of the most amazing people in the reptile hobby. Usually on talkshows when there is an animal segment, the host will talk over the expert a lot when they are scared. And never let them talk about the animal what they had prepared. Thats why i never watch them anymore. But Jason, despite being scared, actually asks questions and lets Emily do her thing. I really appreciate that.

I am definitely here for Emily, but I'd love to say i am so proud of Jason for facing his fears and holding the snake! That's awesome! Emily would never put somebody in harms way so if she says an animal is safe to hold and has beenvery well socialized with humans, it is safe to hold.😊 ❤

I currently own 13 snakes and 6 lizards here at my small, in-house rescue/rehab/retirement facility known as the Kersey Krew Zoo. 99% of my animals have been either rescued by me or rehomed/surrendered to me and I hope to use many of them as ambassador animals in Educational Programs in my area of Kentucky. 🤘🏻❤️‍🔥

So not taking issue with your claims, but percentage. 19 individuals have no capacity to fulfill a 99 percentile calculation. If one wasn't from a source of the nature described, the percentage would be closer to 95.

@@freewilly1193 Yeah, except for the fact that I only listed the reptiles I own. I also have 2 guinea pigs, 2 dogs, 6 adult rats with about 20 babies and around 40 mice. Percentage evens out I'd say, though I wasn't trying for precision with it.

Loved seeing Jason and Emily with a bunch of reptiles again. Fun fact, Tegus are often considered "puppy-dog-like" in the pet trade because of their docility. The biggest issue with them is giving them the space they need to grow and thrive. Most people will build enclosures that take up half of a room because it's very hard to buy an enclosure big enough. Other folks will let their tegus free-roam through their house (supervised of course). They are very chill, if expensive, pets.

As someone who knows some of these animals really well (not as a species, but as individuals), I love watching this guy be freaked out by the sweetest lil potato Ally... But petting Hypno. Like, that dude has a decent chance of trying to eat your fingers. That jet black snake, while most docile, scared me so much. I’m Aussie and always find the red belly black snakes way more visually terrifying than the brown snakes, even though the brown snake is more deadly. Both deadly, just one kills quicker lol.
