@@yourlocalcryptid6024 a buddy of mine met Matthew a while ago and asked him about that and even though it isn't ever adressed in canon because the Network kept their Finger on it and didn't allow it, he played Reid as a biromantic asexual from the very start. The writers were in it too, creating coding and subtext whenever they could without the Network getting mad. Just... passing on the information.

Yeah, they were gonna made her a lesbian and they also had the idea of making Spencer bi, but they decided against both. I'm kinda petty about it, Emily and Spencer are my faves and I really wish they were actually lgbt+.

A friend of mine met Matthew and asked him about that and he said he played Reid as biromatic/asexual

I am years late to the party but she was originally written as a lesbian; network just didn't allow it. Also, Reid was supposed to be Bi/Ace which the Network also didn't allow, though the writers and Matthew brought it in though subtext and coding. Was a bit harder to do for Emily I guess but any subtext there is was definitely intentional.
