This video resonated with me so much Emily! I am tearing up with you. In 2017 I had to put my small art business aside and went back to work as a Designer. I felt like a terrible Mom to my then-3-year-old, working 60 hours a week on my business and spending no time with her. Now she's 8 I've begun easing back into my art studio, I forgot how rewarding and fulfilling it is! We truly do put ourselves aside when we have babies. I believe in you and don't worry your creative circumstances will continue to change and evolve through each milestone your baby hits. Our advantage is we have a little person inspiring us to be better people, better artists, and successful business owners.❤

Oh Emily, crying along with you with all the mixed feelings about leaving your studio. I'm sure it's really hard, but at the end of the day, it's just a building. I think you're making a really wise choice and I hope it helps take some of the pressure off. Anything you could accomplish there, you can still accomplish at home. The Scottish in me says thank god you'll be saving the money on the studio!!! Have you seen Baylee Jae's new house and her huge at home warehouse in the basement? Things to aim for. All you need to remember is to not spend all your time at home working. Everything you said, remember, if you were here long enough..this or that, hey I remember all of it!! You are amazing.

I have dreams of having my own little studio/store front, but really, I've come to terms with that just being a want rather than a need. I totally understand why it might feel like a step back, or just feel sad to let the studio go, but I can only see you being wildly more happy with what's coming next. That extra money going into dream products, having that extra money to have fun with Luca. Really, as bittersweet as it is, this decision is a win for you and your family and I can't wait to see what's in store for you! P.S. I've abandoned enamel pin making for a little while but your beautiful sets really have me itching to get back into making some. xD

I had to do the same last year, leave my studio and bring it back home and I'll say that my work life balance has improved massively. I really miss having that space but nothing is forever, who knows what's to come. Well done mama you're killing it x

Times are definitely hard for everyone but at least you are still doing what you love and helping to support your family!I had one parent home my whole childhood and while we didn’t have much I wouldn’t trade it for the world! …Do you have a big yard? My dream goal is to buy a house and be able to build a she shed. That way it’s still my own little studio but literally right outside.

I aslo built a business to be able to be a present mum, to have time to take my kids to school and back, to be there for them when they're unwell or need me. I can tell you that the first few years were tough but now that they're a bit older and more independent I can find more time for my business. you did such an amazing job on your Kickstart! So happy for you :) And don't worry, you made it to your own studio once, and you'll make it back. And it won't take as long as you think. Take it from a mom with a fully grown boy, something starts to change after maybe the age of 10ish. They really start trying to be little people and don't need you as much, at least not in the same ways. They will be out at friends' places more often and busy doing their own thing and before you know it you'll find yourself with more and more time on your hands again.

Hi Emily, I am so sorry to hear this news but I know you will be fine and everything will go well. And you are doing such a great job there with all your amazing works you’ve been created. I am very impressed and so proud of you. Actually I’ve there and am still struggling with it too…very discouraging lately but I am happy where I am now. I had to close my store/studio due to many other reasons but also the same reasons with you basically. I’ve crying a lot first year when I gave my landlord a notice that I am going to leave…and last summer I closed my shop. I was also struggling with burning out so I had to break. But since I had another baby I was very busy and sick for a while. Baby is growing good and getting better so I am pleased with that. Anyways I still struggling with my.dreams and hope but I don’t want to give up. One day I will be glad I took this adventure and will be proud of my decisions I’ve made for my kids too. Anyway I wanted to say this you are doing such an amazing job there and look at all your beautiful products you’ve been creating. Awesome!! Wish you the best!

The cost of living crisis won’t last forever, so in the meantime we all have to do whatever is best for us and our businesses to keep going so we can make it out of the other side to when people can afford to start buying more “non-essentials” again 😊. You don’t need my validation as you know you are doing the right thing for you in this moment and just because you are moving away from a studio now doesn’t mean you won’t ever be in one again x
