If I was shopping ONLY by swatches (NO PACKAGING TO DISTRACT ME), and you showed me those on your arm....I'd TOTALLY choose the originals. It just goes to show how motivated we, the consumers, are by pretty packaging. Too Faced KNEW that and so they used pretty packaging to try and renew interest in an older product. P.S. Although the outer packaging is undeniably beautiful, I actually hate a shiny gold inner palette. It not only detracts from the shadows, but it also just looks "cheap-y" to me. I'll keep my old "Natural Eyes" tin thank you, Too Faced 😘

I love the new packaging! I’ve never own any of those eyeshadow palettes before, so when I purchased the shimmer one, I absolutely fell in love with it. Perfect everyday eyeshadows, butter smooth and they easily blended out. Really glad I got it.

I REALLY LOVE the new colors that are BETTER versions of the old TOO warm/orange/deep that are now SO much prettier!! They are MORE wearable and REALLY look more natural and like nude/neutral shades. I get SO tired of SO many brands ruining palettes with all the orange/"terracotta" or too deep murky colors that LOOK like TOO much and you can never get a NATURALLY PRETTY look with them. I for one am SO glad they improved those old (overused and obvious) colors. I have the old palettes and am SO happy they finally made something that is AS PROMISED, NEUTRAL/NATURAL colors. NOT everyone wants OBVIOUS , noticeable color but like instead to just look NATURALLY ENHANCED AND PRETTY. THANK you TOO FACED for the improvements!

I got the old Natural Matte at TJ Maxx for $15. Be on the lookout. I actually like the smaller tin packaging. I don't like the new gold interior. I just prefer a smaller palette. I'm going to use it for travel. As a cool tone lover I most certainly love the original! You are right Emily, the new one is so ordinary.

Emily, you should do a side by side, one eye with old pallette and one with the new one.i do love your ability to analyze the products, not just this particular one but all the products that you show us. Okay - this might be me being silly, but I am kind of tired of makeup brands using "raunchy" names like sexpert or strip poker or, more famously, orgasm. Not because I personally care but because it means that I can't give this to my traditional grandmother (she'd have a heart attack) or to my younger relatives. Plus it is overdone shock value marketing.

@@kpeacock22 I love my Tarte In Bloom or the Tarte Maneater as a neutral palette. The names in maneater might be a little risque, but the ones in In Bloom are not. However, In Bloom is $46 while Maneater is $30 (both sold at Ulta). Id look in stores and see which one she might like best. Maybe even the Bare Minerals palettes with 6 colors? Gen Nudes palettes, I think theyre called. Also, all versions are $30.

I have been wanting the natural matte eyeshadow palette and always talked myself out of it. Even after I learned that the palette was changing, it took about a month for me to decide to go ahead and buy it before the older version is out of stock and discontinued. The newer version of the same palette is slowly growing on me but it will be awhile before I would get it. The dusky rose color is my kind of color and that is a selling point for me. I have the face palette and the shimmer eye palette. I was playing around with them last night as I just got them in the mail yesterday. The eye palette doesn't have tons of choices of colours. I got a beautiful eye look from it and it was as good as any youtuber out there. I am not a makeup artist but just a makeup junkie. I found the shadows to be very creamy, felt wonderful, nicely pigmented and a win. The face palette is also very nice. I like the blush, highlighter and bronzer that I used. I give it full marks. I had no fallout on my face from the eye shadow. The smell of the palettes is amazing. I got a whiff in my mother and it tasted good, too. I am not a big Too Faced fan and haven't had a ton of success with them in the past but this is a definite win. If you are on the fence I would say you will probably be very happy with them.

My second ever high end eyeshadow palette was the natural love palette and I LOVE it! It was just simple, but very thin and sleek cardboard packaging with that BEAUTIFUL springy print and details standing out in velvet, and it’s SO good. I’m obsessed with face palettes and I want the natural face palette so badly!

Awesome video, I have yet to see anyone else review these! I think everyone assumed they were exactly the same, just newer packaging! I always turn to you for accurate, honest & in depth info on products. I know researching all of these things take time quite a bit of effort, so please know it is noticed & appreciated! I've seen the Natural Mattes/Eyes palette numerous times on discount websites recently, and not knowing about the repackage thing, couldn't understand why. I'm in Australia and I'm not sure if you have the same site available, but surely you have something similar; I'm referring to a website I frequently use called "Catch of the Day", which is a discount website offering often HUGE markdowns on items. I think they bulk buy products which are being discontinued or possibly nearing the end of their 'use by' date. Anyway, I hope this helps. Oh, possibly you can find them on Nordstrom rack (?? not sure I've got the name completely right) but they seem to offer something similar. I saw the Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette, version 1, marked down on there around the time they were releasing the version 2 of that palette. I think you basically sign up for email alerts because they only offer these discounts for a limited time. I'm sorry I'm not more clear on the details but I decided not to follow through with any of their offers because their shipping to Australia made it not worth my time. I hope you find your palette! I used to have the tin packaged natural eyes palette and some shades I loved, others lacked pigment (the cream shade) I gave it away. Loved the gold flecked brown shade. It was my first high end palette. Ahh those were the days!

Yayyy! I’ve been waiting for your review on the Too Faced eyeshadow palettes redux! I haven’t been that excited about new Too Faced eyeshadow palettes in a while. My last purchase was their Sweet Peach palette but last real love was the Semi-Sweet palette. I hope their quality doesn’t continue to drop because they truly are my favorite eyeshadow brand. I fee like your Honey Butter is my Tartelette in Bloom’s Smarty Pants. It’s a gorgeous warm transition color that changes my whole eye look. I love the Natural Mattes original version! It's one of my favorites and I've even given it as gifts a couple times too because loved it so much. I also prefer the smaller tin packaging on the original too. Much easier to store... oh well there's so many eyeshadow options out there now it's ok. Literally GASPED when you said satin sheets and then paused the video to comment. IM SO HAPPY. Satin sheets has actually appeared in several of their holiday palettes as a highlight or a shadow shade and might even be in the chocolate bonbons palette if I recall correctly, and it is the most gorgeous highlighter and one of my favourites. Natural Face is a re-do also. It's been a number of years. I have one, mostly cream products, now is pretty much unusable and smells like clay! But do an image search in google if you're curious about it. What it looks like with the new palettes is that they don't STACK, and that's a definite minus.

ANA Gama If I remember correctly (someone can correct me if I'm wrong), Sexpresso is a shadow that has been around for years. I think it used to be in one of their duos that they sold way back when. But I agree about the names. It just kind of makes it weird and I'm not a fan of over sexualized names for makeup.

The original cardboard natural eyes palette was the first "real" palette I got back when I was 11 years old and it started my love for makeup. To this day, I still love it the most of all the too faced palettes and I'll pull it out occasionally for old times sake.

Satin Sheets is my all time favorite all over eyeshadow from from toofaced. I had an old discontinued palette and was heart broken until the boudoir eyes palette brought it back! I was a little surprised when I saw it as a highlight. I used to use it as a highlight though way back in the day when I first got hard core into makeup my jr. Year.

Emily you always do such a good review. The swatch tip about the spreadabiity of the shadow and it's meaning really is helpful. I had not thought about that. I think I would like the original better but the packaging is better. Those lipsticks look lovely. I would love to see a video swatch on those.

My all time favorite eyeshadows have come from those Too Faced 9 pan palettes. Smoky Eyes (the cardboard one), Budoir Eyes, Totally Cute and Peanut Butter & Jelly are the palettes I always grab for first. I wish they weren't moving so far from that.

You are so articulate and just fantastic when it comes to reviewing products! I understand everything well, even though English isn’t my first language (but I do love the language so much, it’s like my second language), and your videos are so well thought off. I personally like the shades in the new palette, because I’m very fair and have blue eyes so I feel like the new palette would suit my eyes more. I don’t know. I didn’t try the old shadows though. But I’m definitely going to get the new Natural Matte palette because I need new brown matte shades for every day use. :) Thanks for the video, Emily!

Loved your review. The natural palatte was one of my first high end makeup purchases Except for Lancôme when I was in my 20s to 40 I didn't discover you tube beauty until at least 5+ years later. I don't even know why I chose it. But it was s great palatte then and I got it out and used it after your video. I kind of wish I could get a replacement for my original one after your review. The face palatte is so beautiful and I was attracted to it right away. Maybe for Mother's Day?
