Loved what you had to say about body typing systems. I got really into the Kibbe system over the last year & found it to be very beneficial to the way I viewed my own body, as it helped me to really know my own “lines” rather than trying to wear something meant for a different type & thus comparing myself to people that are nowhere near my body shape/height/etc. So in that sense, it was very positive & helped me to develop a more consistent style. However, now that I’m more familiar with this system & in general the clothing that flatters my body best, I enjoy borrowing looks from other types but tailoring them to suit me.

Love hearing that! That is a perfect example of what I spoke to in the video. Using it to gain perspective and inspiration but not taking so verbatim. Thanks so much for your comment!

Great and informative video thank you. Writing from Cornwall UK, and wondering if you'll ever end up in the UK with your family? I totally agree re the hair, I have a short, edge crop, and as my husband is a hairdresser, I have no excuses for not having good hair! I'd be interested to see your tips for decluttering if you have got to the stage where you love everything, but just want less - I am down to 50 items now, but feel like it's too much, and am struggling to see where to cull. Thank Emily, best wishes, Kim-Marie

Thank you Seetal!! It does grow fast. I think because it's short and always being trimmed which they say makes it grow faster cuz your ends are splitting. Fun fact ;-)

Thank you so much for answering my question! I'm very excited to see what's next for you. My best friend lives in the Twin Cities and I just love visiting all throughout the year. Also, I did not know your husband was English. Very informative thirsty Thursday! P.S. I'm also a 100% too tight cotton denim fan. My favorite Levi's 501's were bought brand new and now they are my perfect pair of denim!

Such a lovely Q&A. You asked about what we are drinking, I am still loving red wine on weekends - my favourite is Chocolate Block from SA, it is fabulous - kinda expensive so I only drink it when I am gifted one as a present. A drink I love when it is nice and hot is a “Rock Shandy”. In a long glass add Ice, Soda water, a little sprite and about 15-20 drops of Agostura bitters then stir with a long twirzler stick. If I have time I will add a few lemon slices too. It should look a light salmon colour. Not hugely alcoholic as you are only using a few drops of the bitters but so nice on a hot day!!!

Oh I love a good Shandy so that version sounds delicious! Will have to try it sometime. Thanks for sharing Lara!!

Love the new intro! What do you miss about Minnesota? I'm an Oregonian, lived in Portland for 20 years but the Californication of it got to be too much (no offense to you meant, just don't like the over-development and crowds). We moved lower into the valley to enjoy a more classic Oregon experience again (fewer crowds & development here still). I was in fashion for a long time, it is a forever passion of mine! I aim to get back to it this year on my own in a new way. So many avenues to explore now with the global market on the internet! I love your channel, your quality content deserves a large audience!

Hiii Oona! Glad to hear from someone here in Oregon! Being originally from Minnesota I miss my family a lot, and actually really miss the city. There is so much culture and activities but not on an overwhelming scale like some of your big cities. I love love love Oregon, the access to so much beautiful nature is amazing. But yea, I agree, it sounds funny being that I am one of the Californians that invaded...but there is a lot of that SoCal vibe that is overtaking the effortless grit of Portland we fell in love with soooo many years ago. Still one of my favorite cities though. Thanks for your comment Oona!!

@@EmilyWheatley I still love Portland too, even with the less appealing changes. I agree the more down to earth bygone days there were the best! I lived there on and off since the 1980's and my great aunt was the first head librarian at the downtown main branch in the Victorian era! I hope to visit Minnesota one day, I am fascinated by the Great Lakes region in general. Pleased to meet you :)

I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love your aesthetic! I have tried so hard to figure out how to achieve the kind of looks you do, but I just don’t seem to have a knack for it, or it’s my fire hydrant with a butt body! Being in the beauty industry, of course I want and kind of need to look edgier. I guess my question would be, do you have style advice for a zaftig, short girl in her fifties who doesn’t want to look silly?

Hello Emily, Waow, your hair is great, you look beautiful! I am watching your video on sunday morning, with a cup of Earl Grey tea and a lazy cat on my lap. Wine in a can? Sounds so weird from France! About body types, I think it is interesting to know about them, it helps understand why this outfit looks fabulous on our friend and not that great on us. It should be seen as tools to help us get the style we like and feel good in and not as rules to follow to look "the best" according to our features or tell us what to hide and what to accentuate. Have a nice day, Bouchra
@EmilyWheatley3 жыл бұрын
Haha wine in a can must sound sac-religious to you Bouchra :-) I know, it is weird and had you told my 30 year old self I'd be drinking canned wine, she'd slap me. Yes, I agree with you on your body type comment. It's a great tool for getting to know your body and why certain things don't look good on us. Thank you for your comment Bouchra!! Salut! (PS started learning French this month, I'm only on the super basics, but wow girl, French is hard, but I love it!)
